Elizabeth Warren - I'm An Indian Too
Tasting Elizabeth Warren's Authentic Native American Recipes.
Elizabeth claimed she was from the Cherokee tribe even though she had no tribal affiliation. One of the recipes she submitted was plagiarized from a french chef Pierre Franey who ran a fancy French restaurant in New York from 1941 to 1966. The exact same recipe word for word was published August 8th 1979 in the New York Times, just five years before Warren submitted her recipe. So the actual recipe was created by a sous chef, but it wasn’t spelled with an “X.”
Another plagiarized recipe, “Herbed Tomatoes,” appears to be copied from this 1959 recipe from Better Homes and Garden. We did not test this recipe because it looked super gross.
