How To make Boiled Fruit Cake

2 c Cold water
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Nuts; optional
1/2 c Figs
1 c Butter
2 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Cloves
1 ts Nutmeg
3 Eggs; well beaten
3 c Flour
2 ts Soda
1/4 ts Cream of tartar
Mix well and boil together for 10 minutes the first nine ingredients. Remove and let cool thoroughly; then all eggs, flour, soda, and cream of tartar. Bake in loaf pan 350~ for about one hour. -----

This fruit cake is a simpler and easier version of making a traditional fruit cake or old-fashioned fruit cake.
In this Easy fruit cake recipe we don't need any soaking of dry fruits; but still the raisins,candied peels,cranberries and other dried fruits will be juicy and plumpy as they are boiled in liquid and then added into the cake batter.
This video will show you one of the least messy ways that we can make a fruit cake.We don't need any stand mixer/hand mixer to make this cake.A sauce pan and a wooden spoon are the only major tools to make this fruit cake.
In two steps we can make this super moist fruit cake batter.
Step1:
Boil the dry fruits in a sauce pan with butter sugar and water.
Step2:
Add all the rest of ingredients into this saucepan after its cooled.
Step3:
Bake the fruit cake @ 320 F for 75-90 minutes.
The cake is so soft and moist and the aroma of spices makes this fruit cake, more flavorful.
This fruit cake recipe is one of my favorite recipes to make moist fruit cake.

How to prepare fruits for Christmas Fruit Cake, Black Cake. (Boiled, Stewed Fruits)
This recipe of Stewed Fruits is the way to go if you are planning to bake Christmas Black Cake. Loads of spices, tons of flavors.
Ingredients
1 1b Currant
1 1b Raisins
1 1b prunes ( remove seeds and cut if half)
1/2 1b cherries
(Any other fruits of your desire)
3 bay leaves
2 cinnamon stick
1/2 tbs ground cinnamon
1 tsp mix spice
1 tbsp vanilla essence
1 bottle rum
1 bottle cheery brandy or wine
Boil fruits for 2 hours under the lowest heat, check within that time frame add more water if needed.
Allow to cool, pour in tight lid container along with Rum and Wine and allow to soak for at least a day before baking.
How to make Boiled Fruit Cake. Delicious Old Fashioned Fruit Cake Recipe.
Boiled Fruit Cake
1 375g Pkt Mixed Fruit
1 Cup Sugar
250g Butter
1 Cup Cold Water
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Mixed Spice
½ Teaspoon Nutmeg
Pinch Salt
Bring Above Ingredients to Boil while stirring. Add 1 Teaspoon Bi-Carb Soda and continue to stir.
Remove from heat and let cool. When cooled add 1-2 Tablespoons Dark Rum and transfer mixture
Into large mixing bowl.
1 Cup Self Raising Flour
1 Cup Plain Flour
2 Eggs Beaten
Sift Self Raising & Plain Flour together into mixing bowl with boiled fruit mixture. Beat 2 Eggs and add. Stir well to combine.
Grease and line Loaf Tin and add pour mixture into Tin and place into oven which has been pre heated to 180 Deg Celsius.
Bake for Approx 1 hour an 15 minutes or until skewer inserted into cake comes out clean.

It is simple and involves only two steps! There is no need to soak the fruits ahead of time so if you did not have time to soak your fruits for this Christmas, then try out this easy fruit cake recipe and I'm sure you will be tempted to bake this every year!
Even though we don't soak the fruits ahead of time, boiling them in some butter, water and spices makes them plump and juicy, thereby making the cake intense and flavorful!

Boiled fruit cake
fruit 1 lb
water 200 ml
brown sugar 150 g
mixed spice 1 tsp
bicarb of soda 1 tsp
margarine 115 g
s.r flour 260 g
2 eggs
bring to the boil and simmer for 5 mins
when cold add flour 2 eggs beaten and
mix well cook in the oven for about 1 hr
in an 8 inch tin or 2 lb loaf tin.
