How to Cook Lobster Tails | Garlic Butter Lobster Tails Recipe | Chef Tips
Today I’m showing you how to cook lobster tails with a recipe that’s easy to prepare, but so big on flavor! I’ve been making this lobster tails recipe since I first started cooking professionally with chef Homaru Cantu (of Chicago’s MOTO fame), back when we worked together at Lake Arrowhead Resort in California. We made this garlic butter lobster tail recipe for New Year’s Eve back in the 1990s and it sold like crazy!
This garlic butter lobster tail recipe uses just a few ingredients. I bought my lobster tails at Costco, and the price was just $50 for 6 tails, as opposed to $50 or more per serving at most California restaurants! Here's what you'll need to make the lobster tails. Note: You can cook this lobster tail on the grill, but it can be just as easily made on a cast iron grill or even a frying pan inside the home.

???? Baked Lobster Tail Ingredients:
For Garlic Butter Sauce
2 Lobster Tail, about 2 lbs (I bought mine at Costco)
4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Lemon Juice
1 Garlic Clove, minced
Seasoning for Lobster
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Paprika
1/4 Teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Cup Chopped Parsley
???? Baked Lobster Tail Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add melted butter, salt, old bay seasoning, paprika, ground black pepper, lemon juice and minced garlic. Mix well and set aside.
2. Using kitchen shears, cut the lobster tail down its length, from the thickest part of the tail to the ending fins. Make sure you cut through the meat, too, but don’t cut the bottom part of the shell.
Use your hands to gently pull apart the shell and meat where you just cut to separate the halves. Be careful not to break the bottom shell.
Use your fingers to gently pull meat up from the bottom of the shell without removing it entirely. The meat should remain attached to the end portion of the tail by the fins. Remove the dark vein from the center and discard.
3. Preheat the oven to 400F (204C).
4. Season the lobster with garlic powder, ground black pepper, paprika, old bay seasoning and salt.
5. Save some garlic butter sauce for later. Brush the garlic butter sauce on top and bottom of the lobster meat.
6. Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet bake in the preheated oven for 17-20 minutes. Lobsters are done when they are firm, white and no longer translucent.
7. Brush the lobster tails with reserved garlic sauce and add chopped parsley on top before serving.
