How To make Angels On Horseback's Videos
Angels on Horseback, they're lush
Check out my first novel.
If you're put off by the idea of eating something that's alive then oysters do not appeal, but Angels on Horseback are cooked and unbelievable delicious.
Oysters wrapped in bacon are one of the most popular dishes in Victorian England, and we're going to show you how to make them at home. This delicacy is rich and decadent, and perfect for a special occasion. And don't forget to try the angels on horseback--they're lush and delicious!
The Best Angels vs Devils on Horseback Recipe presented by Volpi Foods
One of the most important aspects of the ritual that watching the big football game has become is the feasting that goes with it. So why not bring some friendly competition to the snack platter? These appetizers do just that. Angels & Devils are old school, dating back to 19th-century Britain, and divisive right down to their names. The Angels came first, oysters simply wrapped in bacon and fried. Devils followed later, with prunes replacing the oysters. They took the name “Devils” only to counter the angels, not because they were particularly spicy. British palates of that era weren’t so keen on heat. That was then, this is now, and we want a kick. So line ’em up, and feel free to wager on which disappears first.

DEVILS ON HORSEBACK.
Video Cooking Demonstration and Recipe
These tasty little treats are perfect for entertaining and barbeques. The combination of salty bacon and sweet prunes truly compliment each other and they are a good bite sized treat.
Handy Hints:
Don't forget to soak your toothpicks in water for 30 minutes so they don't stick to the food and don't burn on the grill.
Always have a small shot glass or tray available for spent toothpicks. Place a toothpick in it to demonstrate its use. Nothing worse than guests eating the food and having no where to place the used toothpick.
Make sure there are enough napkins available to assist your guests.
The uncooked devils on horseback are suitable for freezing for cooking at a later time. Just make sure they are stored in a thick plastic bag or container to prevent puncture of the bag and possible freezer burn.
Devils on Horseback

Devils On Horseback
A deliciously sensual appetizer originating in England and hugely popular in the US during the 1950's through 1970's. Delicious tastes of salty, sweet and smokey dance together with crunchy happiness in this nutritious appetizer; prunes or dried plums as they are now known are one of the most nutritious of dried fruits.
