Amy Roloff Making Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies w Alex Wilson Part 2
Hi Everyone! Here is part 2 of making Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies with Alex Wilson and his bakery shop The Hungry Hero! (Link below)
In this video, Alex talks about his passion of baking and his personal journey of how he started his own bakery, The Hungry Hero :)
Here's the cookie recipe:
4oz room temp butter
Half cup packed brown sugar
Half cup white sugar
One egg
One egg yolk
One tsp vanilla
6oz all purpose flour
Half tsp baking soda
Half tsp baking soda
Half tsp kosher salt
One cup chocolate chips
Half cup chopped pecans (can sub any nut)
Flake salt
Cream butter and sugar 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Bowl scrape halfway through.
On medium speed, add one egg at a time, bowl scrape in between each one. Add vanilla. Beat on high 2 minutes.
Add flour, blend on medium high for 45 seconds to one minute. Bowl scrape and add chocolate chips and nuts. Mix by hand with spatula until combined.
Scoop heaping table spoons 3 inches apart, bake at 350 for 15 to 18 minutes. Depending on the type of oven you have, times may vary.
This recipe is great because the base recipe stays the same, but mix-ins can be interchangeable.

Snickerdoodle Cookies | Amy Roloff's Little Kitchen
Snickerdoodle cookies are one of my favorites. The cookie isn’t just a sugar cookie but a cookie with a great cinnamon sugar and tang from the cream of tartar taste. It has a nice cookie chew with a little crispness around the edges. This is my version of this traditional cookie recipe. I hope you give my version of this traditional cookie a try.

Michigan Rocks Cookies | Amy Roloff's Little Kitchen
I remember having and making these cookies from my childhood. For some reason we made them during the holidays. I think they are good anytime. But you know already I love cookies. Originally, this cookie recipe came from Michigan, from a Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth. I think the popularity was more in Pennsylvania in the coal region in the 1930’s. The cookies are called ‘rocks’ because of all of the rocks in the lakes. The rocks especially in Lake Superior are spectacular. Anyway, the warm spices and fruit are wonderful in the cookies.
