How To make Almond Slices
3/4 c Sugar; (3/4 to 1)
2 c All-purpose flour
1 c Brown sugar, packed
2 Eggs; beaten
2 ts Baking powder
2 ts Almond extract
3 c Almonds; chopped
1/3 c Oil
2 ts Water
1 ts Cinnamon; optional
Mix all together, shape into flattened logs, brush top with beaten eggs (not those included in recipe). Bake 350 degrees for 19 - 25 min. (watch carefully). Cut while warm. Jo's Note: I think this is a little too much almond extract. I would try about 3/4 teaspoon. -----

All you have to do is to take the amount of Almonds you want and soak them into hot water for about 24 hours and there you go.
TIPS:
If you still think your almonds are too dry and not slicing properly then you just boil them again for about 5-7 minutes.
Make sure the blade of your slicing machine or slicer is sharp.
Keep an eye while baking it because it doesn't take much time to bake and easily gets burnt or over baked.
USES OF ALMOND FLAKES :
Almond flakes are used to make cakes, pastries, decorating on doughnuts, almond cookies, chocolate brownies, also adding it with cereal, ice cream and also can be blended into powder form and can be used as Almond flour.

BAKEWELL SLICE! Almonds, raspberry jam and butter shortbread - perfect!
Welcome back to Heronbrook Farm Kitchen. Bakewell is a market town in Derbyshire famous for an amazing tart combining pastry, fruit (typically cherry or raspberry jam) and an almond frangipane topping. Absolutely delicious! Bakewell is only about 12 miles from our farm and so, in homage to them, we’ll show you how to make our Bakewell slice. We’ve modified (improved?) the original slightly by replacing the pastry with a shortbread base to make it easier to eat with your hands. This slice is also our kids absolute favourite. Please follow along with the video and I hope you enjoy it as much we do!
