Chili con carne - Soup of the Devil
Chili con carne has lots of history around its origin. One to be believed is the dish used to be called a soup of the devil because of misunderstanding at that time. Today chili con carne is so popular that you can get it anywhere. As of today's recipe, we tried to add a few unique ingredients to improve the spiciness and the complexity of the meat sauce.
Ingredients:
2 cloves of garlic
2 large onions
2 red chili
5 small paprika
2 large tomatoes
250gr meat cube
750gr mincemeat
400gr cube tomatoes
300ml beef stock
9gr dark chocolate (90%)
200ml beer
150ml black coffee
250gr cooked kidney beans
spices:
2 tsp chipotle
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp Chinese five spices
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp coriander
2 tsp paprika powder
Directions:
Put 2tbsp olive oil in a heated pan, add onion and garlic. Saute for 1 minute and then add the meat. Cook until meat became brown and then add the tomatoes and beef stock.
Add the spices and mix them well, after that add the dark chocolate, beer, and coffee. Cook for 1.5 hours on medium heat. Add the chili and paprika. cook for another 20 minutes and then serve it with fresh coriander and tortilla chips. You can add grated cheddar cheese to taste.
