This candy will supposedly last indefinitely, and that must be the reason that it was mailed to servicemen back in the day.

100 Year Old Potato Salad Recipe - Authentic Brooklyn NY Deli Potato Salad
This is a 100 year old potato salad recipe from my aunt. She owned several delis in Brooklyn, NY many years ago and used to make most of the food that was sold herself. When she bought one of the delis, the previous owner passed on all of the recipes to her. My family has been making this potato salad ever since. The original recipe called for Wesson Oil but you can use any vegetable oil that you like. My aunt always used red potatoes so I still make it with red potatoes. My aunt also used to garnish it with fresh parsley and some carrot curls. I didn't have any on hand when I filmed the video but it makes for a nice presentation.
