PRAWN CURRY | PRAWNS GRAVY RECIPE | PRAWN MASALA CURRY | SHRIMP CURRY

Ingredients for Prawn Curry :
- Prawns, medium sized (cleaned and deveined) - 500 gms gross- 250-300 gms net
- Onions, fine chopped- 2 small
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Tomatoes, fine chopped- 2 small
- Green chillies, slit & cut- 2
- Salt- 3/4 tsp or to taste
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Red Chilli powder- 2 tsp or less as per taste
- Coriander powder- 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp (Link to our Garam Masala Recipe:
- Coconut milk- 1 cup (of a quarter coconut or readymade)
- Coriander leaves, chopped- 1 tbsp
- Oil- 2 tbsp
Preparation:
- Shell, devein and wash the prawns. Let the water drain from the prawns.
- Chop the onions and the tomatoes, slit and cut the green chillies.
- Take out coconut milk from a quarter of a coconut or use fresh coconut milk available in stores.
Process:
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadai and add the chopped onions.
- Fry on medium to low heat till translucent( around 8-10 mins) and then add the green chillies.
- Add the ginger garlic paste. Mix and fry for around 2 mins till raw smell is gone.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, mix and add the salt. Cook for around 5 mins till tomatoes are soft.
- Add all the powders other than garam masala powder.
- Mix and add 1/2 cup of water. Bhuno on medium for around 2-3 mins till the masalas are cooked.
- Now add the prawns and mix well. Fry for around 5 mins on medium heat.
- Add the coconut milk, let it come to a boil, lower the heat to low and cover & cook for around 10 mins.
- Now add the garam masala powder, mix & sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with roti or rice.

Ingredients:
Prawn Marinade:
600g of Prawns (devained, shelled, cleaned)
1 heaped tsp of crushed garlic
1 heaped tsp of Kashmiri chili powder
Half a tsp of Turmeric
Half a tsp of Roasted dhania powder
Lemon juice (half a lemon)
Fine salt
1 Tbs of butter to fry the prawns
Prawn Chutney:
A quarter cup of oil ( Olive, ghee or coconut oil if you are following Never Hungry recipes)
Half a tsp of mustard seed
2 Stems of Curry leaves
3 Green chilies
1 Sliced Onion
2 Cinnamon sticks
1 Star Anise
A heaped tsp of Cumin / jeera powder
A heaped tsp of Coriander / dhania powder
Half a tsp of Turmeric
3 tbs of Nagiahs Everyday Masala
1.5 tbs of Kashmiri chili powder
7 Jam tomatoes
A handful of fresh Coriander / dhania
Dash of water
1tsp sugar or sweetener of choice
Salt
Garnish with fresh Coriander / dhania

Prawn Curry With Coconut Milk - Prawn Curry Recipe
Ingredients
Prawn – 1 kg
Onion – 3 nos
Green chilli – 2 nos
Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
Tomatoes – 2 nos
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Ginger – 1 medium
Garlic – 5 nos
Coriander leaf- one hand full
Red chgilli powder – 2 tbsp
Garam masala – 1 tbsp
Cumin seed powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp.
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt -1 or 2 tsp
Method
First take a bowl add grated coconut and water then mix it well with hands ,Drain the thicker
coconut milk and set aside.
Again we add water in the squeezed coconut bowl and repeated the same process, then we get a
thin coconut milk ,set aside
Then we have to crush the ginger and garlic ,set aside.
Heat oil in a pan add chopped onion saute well.
Add crushed ginger ,garlic ,green chilli and curry leaves saute well.
Then we have to add chopped tomatoes and salt saute till the tomatoes become soften.
Add some curry powders like red chilli powder ,garam masala, cumin seed powder turmeric powder
and coriander powder mix and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add fresh and cleaned prawns ,then mix it well.
Then we have toad thin coconut milk mix, cover and cook well.
Again we have to add thick coconut milk and some coriander leaves ,then cook for some minutes.
Remove from fire and set aside.
Serve and enjoy the tasty prawn curry
