Salted Caramel Cracker Bites - Perfect for Snacking & Gift Giving - Steph’s Stove
Salted Caramel Cracker Bites - perfect for snacking & gift giving!
1 - 9oz package oyster crackers
2 sticks butter (1 cup)
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Using a rimmed baking sheet, line with parchment paper, and pour crackers onto parchment paper in an even layer. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Stir together until all ingredients have dissolved and are well combined. Stirring continually, bring the mixture to a boil. Continue cooking the butter/sugar mixture for 2-3 minutes while the mixture thickens.
Remove from the heat and carefully pour the mixture over crackers. Toss to evenly coat all crackers and top with salt. Bake for 7-9 minutes (be sure the caramel does not burn). Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet. After 5 minutes, remove crackers from the baking sheet and let them cool completely. Once they have cooled completely, break into small clusters and store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
