How To make Legumes In Garlic & Onions
2 c Pigeon peas, soaked, 20 mins
1 qt Water
1/2 ts Turmeric
Salt 1/4 c Oil
1 tb Black mustard seeds
2 ts Cumin seeds
1 md Onion, finely chopped
6 Garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 ts Dried red chilies
Wash pigeon peas & boil them with the water & turmeric & salt for 20 minutes. Heat oil in medium pot, add mustard & cumin seeds & fry until mustard seeds start to pop. Stir in onion & garlic & fry till browned & & soft. Mix in ground chili & stir for 30 seconds. Remove & pour over peas. Stir thoroughly, cover & simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir-fry green beans and carrot with garlic (蒜炒四季豆萝卜) is a delicious yet simple dish to serve and it only takes 15 minutes to prepare. This green bean recipe is perfect as a side dish and it is healthy too. Green bean, also known as spring bean is one of my favourite vegetables. Green beans are always available at wet markets or supermarkets throughout the year in Malaysia. The garlic green beans and carrot recipe calls for just a few ingredients: green beans, carrots and minced garlic. Carrot is added to this recipe for its nutritional benefits and beautiful colour to brighten up the dish. I am going to introduce a Chinese cooking technique in this green beans recipe. I will do a quick stir-fry for the green beans to ensure the crispiness of the texture and to maintain the vibrant green colour. Another way to cook green beans is “dry-fried”, the green beans will become wrinklier and slightly brownish in colour if we “dry-fried” the green beans. Both methods are great and delicious ways to cook fresh green beans.

GARLIC GREEN BEANS | With Smoked Sausage and Onions
Easy garlic green beans with smoked sausage and onion recipe. The perfect side dish to serve with your favorite main dish. Salt, pepper and garlic seasoned fresh cut green beans sautéed in butter and mixed with sautéed onions and smoked sausage.
Servings: 2-3
Shopping List:
2 cups fresh green beans, cut into bite sized rounds
1/2 cup smoked sausage
1/4 sweet onion, diced
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. minced garlic
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
Directions:
Pre-heat the skillet or griddle on medium high (if using the E Series, set to 375 degrees)
Cut smoked sausage into round bite size pieces and cook until lightly charred.
Dice the onion and cook until soft and translucent seasoning with salt and pepper.
Snip the stems off the green beans, add to a bowl, add olive oil, add seasonings. Toss.
Add green beans to skillet or griddle and cook 2-3 minutes then add HOT water, cover and steam 2-3 minutes. Toss and add more HOT water, cover and cook 2-3 more minutes.
Add in sausage, onions, butter and minced garlic to the beans. Toss remove and serve.

Healthy White Beans with Garlic And Rosemary. Simple Healthy Vegan Meal or Side Dish. A very basic white bean recipe that’s healthy and full of fibre. This will adapt to any white bean recipe but the cannellini kidney shape bean seems to hold up its shape a lot better. It’s a basic dish that’s very tasty, you need to use a good quality first pressed virgin olive oil for great results. Use freshly cracked pepper and if you can, fresh rosemary. It’s best to salt last so they retain their shape. Older beans will take longer to cook, 30 to 45 minutes, fresher beans can cook as quickly as 20 minutes. The bicarbonate of soda adds an alkaline that helps the bean keep its shape and speeds up the cooking process. This step is however optional.
