How to bake a traditional German Christmas Cake (Christstollen)
There are many versions of this very traditional German Christmas Cake out there, and I’ve tried quite a few. But this version is my absolute favorite. It’s very rich and flavorful.
It needs some time for the preparation and you won’t forget: It needs another at least 14 days of maturing before you can finally enjoy this delicious cake. Don’t skip this time-its worth it.
Ingredients calculated on the original recipe:
300g or 3-4 cups of rum soaked raisins
540g or 1lb 2oz or 4 1/3 cups all purpose flour (type 550)
100g or 1/2 cup white sugar
85g or 3/8 cups of clarified butter
250g or 1 1/8 cups butter
50g (about 3/8 cups) of each candied orange and lemon peel
120g or 1 cup of grounded almonds
30g of marzipan
1/2 teespoon salt
1 pkg lemon zest
1/2 cup milk
80g of fresh yeast
1 teespoon of mixed spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, ground coriander, galgant, cloves, mace or marcis)
For the finish:
100g melted clarified butter
50g white sugar
100g powdered or icing sugar

Super moist Fruit Cake Recipe for Christmas /Simple and Easy Boiled Fruit Cake Recipe
Super moist fruit cake Complete Written Recipe:
This fruit cake is a simpler and easier version of making a traditional fruit cake or old-fashioned fruit cake.
In this Easy fruit cake recipe we don't need any soaking of dry fruits; but still the raisins, candied peels, cranberries and other dried fruits will be juicy and plumpy as they are boiled in liquid and then added into the cake batter.
This video will show you one of the least messy ways that we can make a fruit cake.We don't need any stand mixer/hand mixer to make this cake.A sauce pan and a wooden spoon are the only major tools to make this fruit cake.
In two steps we can make this super moist fruit cake batter.
Step1:
Boil the dry fruits in a sauce pan with butter sugar and water.
Step2:
Add all the rest of ingredients into this saucepan after its cooled.
Step3:
Bake the fruit cake @ 320 F for 75-90 minutes.
The cake is so soft and moist and the aroma of spices makes this fruit cake, more flavorful.
This fruit cake recipe is one of my favorite recipes to make moist fruit cake.

made with sponge cake, custard, and fruit, this is a very nice dessert to share with family and friends. It's delicious and pretty, great for a get-together. I made this recipe to use up all the egg white and yolk, so you will not have any leftover yolk like other recipes.
Custard Fruit cake/ german fruit cake Recipe:
Ingredients for the cake
5 egg white
sugar 100g
butter 40g
lemon juice 1 tbsp (optional)
lemon zest 1tbsp (optional)
milk 2tbsp
flour 150g
baking powder 1 tsp
vanilla 1 tsp
pinch of salt
---
Ingredients for the custard
5 egg yolk L
sugar 100g
butter 40g
milk 2 cups
vanilla 2 tsp
cornstarch 2 tbsp
pinch of salt
fruits of your choice
Tips:
1. don't over-mix the batter when incorporating flour
2. it's better to use cake flour. but if you don't have it, use all-purpose flour
3. my oven needed 16 minutes of baking time but you might need 2 -3 minutes more depending on your oven type. feel free to adjust.
4. you can adjust the consistency of your custard by increasing the corn starch a little.
