Sloppy Joes Recipe
Hi Guys, today I’ll show you How to Make Sloppy Joes. Generally, Sloppy Joes are made with ground beef and is a little on the sweet side so kids love it. I’m using ground turkey for this recipe so it’s a little healthier. You can use beef, chicken or turkey. This is an extremely quick and easy meal to make especially on a weeknight. All the ingredients are listed below.
Ingredients
Ground meat - 1 lb 450g
Yellow onion - 1 small - 3 oz 80g
Green Bell Pepper - ½ of 1 3 oz 80g
Garlic Powder - ½ tsp
Ground black pepper - ¼ tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Ketchup - ¼ cup
Brown Sugar - 1 tsp
Worcestershire Sauce - 2 tablespoons
Yellow Mustard - 1 tsp
Heat up a pan and add 3 tablespoons of oil. Add 1 small onion chopped and sautee just for a minute. This is one lb or 450 grams of ground turkey. Substitute beef or chicken. Sprinkle on ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp ground black pepper. Stir and break up the meat. Sautee this for a few minutes. When the meat is half cooked, add ½ green bell pepper chopped. Cook this for a few more minutes. I don’t put the peppers in the beginning as they can get mushy. Now the meat is cooked and so are the peppers. Add 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of yellow mustard, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and ¼ cup of ketchup. I know that sounds like a lot of ketchup but sloppy joes are generally on the sweeter side. Stir this up. Add a quarter cup of water. Cover the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and add more salt or pepper if you like. Easy and tasty sloppy joes really quick. Pile them high on a bun, they are supposed to be messy. You can melt some cheese on top, add sliced onion, really whatever you like. A pickle and some chips are perfect with these sloppy joes. This is one of the easiest recipes for dinner or lunch, so I hope you give it a try. Subscribe for more recipes and thanks for watching :)
