How To make Bbq Beans (Vegan)
1 lg Onion; chopped
1 lg Pepper; chopped
1 Garlic clove; crushed
1 1/2 ts Dry mustard
1 1/2 ts Chili powder
1/2 ts Cumin
1/2 ts Turmeric; dried
1 c Tomato sauce
1 1/2 tb Molasses
1/2 ts Apple cider vinegar
1 ds Tabasco sauce
4 c Beans; cooked
Recipe by: The McDougall Plan Preparation Time: 0:35 Saute onion, pepper and garlic in 1/4 c water for 5 minutes. Add mustard, chili, cumin, tumeric and stir well to mix. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook over low heat until heated through, about 15 minutes. HELPFUL HINT: This is great on a bun like sloppy-joe mix, with ketchup and mustard. This is truly one of the best homemade bake bean recipe's I have ever tasted!!! No BBQ sauce needed... Don't be fooled the flavors in this recipe will knock your socks off! Using the ancho pepper adds a natural smokey flavor that just can't be beat. I hope you give this one a try and if you do please come back and leave me a comment about what your opinion of this recipe is!

Ingredients:
1. 1- 16oz bag pinto beans
2. 1 large yellow onion
3. 2-3 cloves of garlic
4. 1 good size piece of ginger or how ever much you want
5. 2 bay leaves
6. 1 small can of tomato paste
7. 2- 3 Tbs black strap molasses
8. 1 Tbs apple cider vinegar
9. 2 Tbs Bragg's amino
10. 1 Tbs Horseradish mustard
11. 1 to 2 Tbs Sriracha sauce
12. 1 Tbs onion powder
13. 1 Tbs garlic powder
14. 1 Tbs cumin or add to taste
15. 1/2 tsp Ancho powder
16. 3 Tbs pure cane sugar or coconut sugar or you can use agave 1/4 cup
17. 2 Tbs olive oil or oil of your choice
18. 1 - 32 oz Vegetable broth you only may need to use 3/4 of it
19. 2 - Basil leaves
Directions:
Soak beans over night in water or pressure cook them.
Heat up a skillet add oil to saute, add chopped onions,minced garlic and ginger to pan and saute till onions are translucent.
Then rinse beans and add to pan along with 16 oz of veggy broth and bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and add tomato paste and the rest of the ingredients listed above let simmer till beans are soft, around 15 min. add more veggy broth if needed or water. Make sure to continue to stir so beans don't burn to bottom of pan.
Preheat oven to 375 Fahrenheit
When beans are soft remove from heat and place in a casserole dish and cover with tin foil
place in the oven and bake them for around 15 min. or desired texture.
Serve by themselves or over a potato or any other verity of ways.

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion chopped
3 cloves of garlic sliced
1 tinned of tomatoes
2 tins of baked beans
2 tbsp tomato puree
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tbsp of muscovado sugar
½ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp dried thyme
Method:
- To start this recipe, pre heat a large casserole dish on to the stove with a medium heat, pour in the oil, throw in the onions and garlic, fry until golden brown. This may take a little time but building the flavours up like this will make all the difference once this is cooked out.
- Next up add the sugar, herbs and tomato puree and cook out for a couple of minutes. Then pour in the vinegar, tin tomatoes, sausages and drained beans.
- Bring the stew up to the boil and reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes and simmer for five more minutes.
- Then serve either as they are or on a slice of chunky toasted sourdough.

Episode 65: Homemade Vegan Baked Beans| Featuring my Vegan Cookout!
Per Usual another far from perfect video, I think by 2020 I will have this cooking thing down packed. I swear I practiced thid recipe 3 times and each time something was off. Lawd!
Help each other out because Im still not sure if i needed to boil the beans if using a slow cooker( I borrowed this one and was using a rehular pot before and beans never got tender even after 6 hours on low)
Here is MY recipe:
2 cups of red beans. Soaked overnight and boiled(45 mins) and drained.
1 cup and 1/4 celery
1 cup onion
1/3 cup garlic
15 oz can tomato sauce
2/3 cup agave
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
4 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp Cumin
Salt and Pepper to Taste
PS: yes are right, these were never baked, but who calls them simmer beans????????
