How To make Basic Salsa
Ingredients
1
each
garlic clove, whole
1
pound
plum tomatoes, cored, finely diced but not peeled
1/2
each
red onion, finely chopped
1/4
cup
coriander, fresh, minced or 1/4 c flat leaf parsley, fresh, minced
1/2
teaspoon
coriander, ground
1
tablespoon
lime juice
1/4
teaspoon
salt
Directions:
Drop the garlic into a small saucepan of boiling water. Let boil, uncovered, over moderate heat for 2 minutes. Drain well, then mince. Place the minced garlic in a medium sized bowl and mix in the tomatoes, onion, coriander, lime juice, and salt. Cover with plastic food wrap and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Transfer the mixture to a 1 quart preserving jar.
Keeps in the refrigerator for 10 days. Makes 2-1/3 cups.
RED HOT SALSA
Increase the garlic to 2 cloves, the lime juice to 1-1/2 tbsp, and add 1 tbsp chopped jalapeno pepper and 1/4 tsp red pepper sauce. Proceed as directed.
Notes: Wash hands after handling the pepper! Keep this savory sauce on hand as a dip for taco chips, a topping for scrambled eggs, or an accompaniment for Tex Mex dishes.

Healthy and homemade fresh fire roasted salsa! Delicious family recipe that is a favorite. I enjoyed this recipe as a child and today my children enjoy it! Whole food and plant based vegan recipe that everyone will enjoy!
7 raw chopped tomatoes, 7 blackened tomatoes (Roma tomatoes are my favorite for salsa but in the video I used vine tomatoes)
1 chopped onion
1 bunch cilantro
8 cloves garlic
juice of 2 lemons
1 large jalapeno
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp salt (optional)
10 dried chile arbol peppers
Chop all the raw tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, and combine in large bowl.
Add the lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt to the mixture.
Blacken or roast the tomatoes in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Get the skins as dark as possible to give a roasted flavor. Then set aside to cool
To roast the chile peppers, get the pan as hot as possible and then take outside. Add the chile peppers to the hot pan and darken . Take extreme caution to not breathe the fumes in from the peppers. I wait until all the smoke is clear before bringing the pan back into the house.
Blend the roasted tomatoes and chiles together in a blender.
Add the blend to the fresh chopped ingredients and mix well.
Serve with your favorite chip and enjoy!

How to Make Salsa | Easy Homemade Salsa Recipe
Today, I'll show you how to make mild salsa at home. This pico de gallo is an awesome healthy snack idea. I used my large Fablunch container to store the salsa:
FULL RECIPE:
In my opinion, this is the best recipe for salsa. I love the fresh taste of this homemade salsa and the fact that it takes less than 5 minutes to make.
It's also very versatile. I use this salsa as a side for my lunch and dinner. I also love serving it with scrambled tofu for breakfast and of course as a heathy dip with crackers. Personally, I prefer the salsa when it's finely diced rather than processed in a food processor. Most of the time if I process it, I eat the salsa as a cold soup like I showed you in the video.
