How To make Sausage Pinwheels
2 c All purpose flour
1 ts Salt
2/3 c Milk
1 tb Baking powder
1/4 c Shortening
1 lb Hot bulk sausage
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut into shortening until it resembles coarse meal. Add milk; stir and blend. Turn out on floured surface and knead 3 or 4 times. Roll dough into a 18x12 inch rectangle. Spread sausage (at room temperature) over dough, leaving 1/2 inch margin on all sides. Roll dough lengthwise (jelly roll fashion) and pinch seams and ends to seal. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Slice 1/4 inch thick and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Today I am sharing how to make Sausage Pinwheels! They make a great appetizer, brunch and breakfast. Sausage, cream cheese all rolled up in crescent rolls, yum!

Sausages in puff pastry, according to a French chef’s recipe! They melt in your mouth!
Ingredients:
puff pastry - 600 g (21.16 oz)
sausages - 400 g (14 oz)
ketchup - 25 g (0.9 oz)
mayonnaise - 25 g (0.9 oz)
bacon - 150 g (5.3 oz)
melted cheese -100 g (3.5 oz)
eggs - 1 piece
IN THE OVEN 180 °C (356 °F)/20 MIN

Sausage Pinwheels - Lynn's Recipes
A delicious, simple appetizer that is good for a party, cookout, or even to take to a tailgate party. Makes enough for a crowd.
Sausage Pinwheels
2 cans Crescent rolls
1 pound sausage
8 ounces cream cheese
2 cups 4 Blend Mexican Cheese
Brown the sausage in a skillet and drain. Add the cream cheese and 4 Blend Mexican Cheese and cook until it is all melted together. Make sure to turn the heat down to prevent the cheeses from burning. Remove from heat and set aside.
Unroll the Crescent rolls and press seams together. Spread half of the sausage mixture over one of the cans of Crescent rolls almost to the edges. Roll up the Crescent roll with the sausage mixture evenly spread starting with the long edge. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill completely. Repeat with the second can of Crescent rolls and the rest of the sausage mixture.
Preheat your oven to 375°. Unwrap the sausage pinwheels and slice into about 1/4 slices and place on a cookie sheet. I lined mine with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes. About halfway through cooking, turn over if desired, to brown evenly on both sides. Serve hot or warm.

Betty's Sausage Pinwheels
Betty demonstrates how to make flavorful Sausage Pinwheels. These pinwheels make a great appetizer served with dipping mustard.
Sausage Pinwheels
3 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into small cubes
2 cups self-rising flour (You may use 2 cups all-purpose flour plus 1 ½ teaspoon baking soda and ½ teaspoon salt.)
2/3 cup milk
½ to 1 pound ground pork sausage, at room temperature
sage leaves for garnish
dipping mustard
In a large mixing bowl, use a pastry blender to cut butter into flour until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Stir in milk. Knead dough on lightly floured surface for a minute or so. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface into the shape of a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread sausage on dough and roll as for a jelly roll. Wrap roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 3 or 4 hours. (You may speed this step up by placing the wrapped roll in the freezer for 1 ½ hours.) When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Slice roll into 1/4- to 3/8-inch slices and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheet and place on paper toweling to drain. Transfer Sausage Pinwheels to a nice serving plate and serve hot with dipping mustard. Enjoy! --Betty ♥♥♥
