Prasopita - Greek Pie with Homemade Phyllo Dough
This is probably the most loved and asked for Greek dish by my family. We make this homemade phyllo dough recipe every holiday season and celebration. The recipe is from my great grandmother who was from Kozani, a village in the Northern part of Greece. Traditionally this Greek pie is filled with leeks, feta and cream cheese. Here is Kyria Efterpi's famous and yummy Prasopita recipe.
Ingredients
5-6 Leeks (only the white and light green parts are used) 1 1/2 pounds of Greek feta 5-7 eggs (depends on what kind you use: large/jumbo/etc...) 2 sticks of butter Olive oil 1 package of good fyllo
Cook between 300-350 degrees (F) depending on your oven for 30-40 minutes.
