Pressure Canning in an Instant Pot
We've all gotten used to our electric pressure cookers. They're convenient, fast, and we've gotten pretty comfortable with using them. But are they safe for pressure-canning foods?
We firmly believe that home-canned food is safe, as long as it's safely canned. Be sure you and your loved ones are practicing safe canning methods!

The Key Ingredient | Episode 4 | Muscadine Mood | PBS North Carolina
Official Website: | #KeyIngredient
Sheri is in a mood to share her joy of cooking with muscadines. These tangy and tasty native grapes showcase beautifully in Sheri’s broccoli pasta salad with muscadines in a delicate poppyseed dressing, while a savory skillet of roasted muscadines and sausage make for a delicious one-pan meal for everyone. Sheri pays a visit to the muscadine mother vine and bakes a muscadine and peanut pie.

How to use a Steam Juice Extractor to Make Jelly
I tried something new today! A steam juice extractor! It might be my new best friend. This kitchen appliance...gadget...system...cooker...whatever you would call it...is fantastic at steaming the juice out of fruits and veggies. THEN you can use it for jellies, soups, or juice canning. And it's shiny. Who doesn't like shiny?

****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 3 new videos every week! Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!

At its most basic, cooking means applying heat to food. Whether the food is baked, fried, sautéed, boiled, or grilled, it's all cooking.
People still cook some foods over an open flame, in addition to using tools like microwaves toasters, and stovetops.

This is what happen if you don't harvest Scuppernongs in time || Harvesting homegrown fruits
Harvesting scuppernong (muscadines). One of our favorite fruits. We didn't put netting over it this year, and as expected, intruders get their way too ahead of us. ????
