Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats (Flashback)
This is a variation of my Classic Rice Krispies Treats recipe. This time we are adding two layers to the treats. A peanut butter layer, then a chocolate layer. This is a treat that will definitely have your friends and family talking.
#PeanutButter #Chocolate #RiceKrispie
Ingredients
8 tbsp butter divided -
18 oz big marshmallows
5 cups puffed rice cereal
4 oz milk chocolate
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 tbsp cocoa powder
Instructions
1. In a wide saucepan or skillet, melt 4 tablespoons butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows, and stir for about 5 minutes, until the marshmallows have completely melted. Stir in the puffed rice cereal, and stir to coat.
2. Scrape the marshmallow cereal out into an 8×8 square pan, and press it down with a spatula to really compact the marshmallow squares. Let that cool while you start on the peanut butter chocolate layer.
3. Melt the milk chocolate and peanut butter in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, then spread the mixture evenly over the top of the marshmallow cereal. Refrigerate for about 2 hours until firm to the touch.
4. For the final layer, melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter and the cocoa powder in a double boiler or in the microwave. Spread the mixture over the milk chocolate peanut butter layer, and refrigerate for another half hour or so, until firm to the touch. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Tips
1. Do not use aluminum foil. It is better to use parchment paper or don’t use anything and just spray the pan with non sticking spray.
2. When you are forming the treats inside the pan, it’s easier to use your hands rather than the wooden spoon or spatula.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats!! PB Crispy Bar Recipe
Learn how to make soft and sweet peanut butter rice krispie treats!! Topped with milk chocolate, these are not your ordinary rice krispie treat recipe. Including tips on how to keep them soft and sticky. Enjoy!
Recipe:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp water
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
6 cups rice krispies (a.k.a 'crisp rice cereal')
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or chocolate of your choice)
Line an 8 x 8 baking dish (for thick treats) or a 9 x 13 (for thin treats) with foil. Grease foil with vegetable oil, butter or shortening. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine corn syrup, sugar and water. Stir constantly until the mixture JUST bubbles around the edges of the pan. Remove from heat immediately and stir in peanut butter, vanilla and salt.
Pour over cereal in a large bowl and fold gently to coat the cereal.
Transfer mixture to prepared baking pan and let cool.
While mixture is cooling, melt chocolate in a bowl over barely simmering water while stirring constantly until half way melted. Remove from heat and continue stirring until chocolate is smooth. (alternatively melt chocolate in microwave by nuking in 30 second intervals, stirring between each just until chocolate is melted. Continue stirring until smooth).
Pour melted chocolate over treats and spread out to a uniform layer. Let cool and cut into pieces. Makes 16-24 treats. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats! | Super EASY Recipe
If you like rice krispies treats AND peanut butter, then this recipe is definitely something you want to try! I used Skippy's creamy peanut butter and regular chocolate chips and melting candies for the chocolate layer. I would have used only melting candies, but I ran out and needed more chocolate because WHO wants a thin layer of chocolate?? haha! I hope you give this recipe a try!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1 10oz bag mini marshmallows (about 5 cups)
1/2 cup peanut butter
6 cups rice krispy cereal
8 oz chocolate chips (about 1 1/2 cups)
2 tsp vegetable oil to thin out chocolate
9x13 inch baking dish
Directions:
Melt the butter over low-medium heat. Once the butter has mostly melted, add in the marshmallows. Once the marshmallows start to melt, add in the peanut butter. After everything is nice and melted, turn off the heat and add in the rice krispy cereal. Give everything a good mix.
Lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Drop in your cereal mixture and evenly spread it out in the dish.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, stirring every 20 seconds or so. If the chocolate is too thick, add in 2 tsp of vegetable oil to thin it out. Pour the chocolate onto the cereal and spread it out evenly coating the top. Let the chocolate set for 2 hrs before cutting into.
Store in an air tight container at room temp.
