After boiling a while, stir in pecan halves and lower heat a little. Stir constantly, till candy reaches soft-ball stage. DON'T OVERCOOK! Remove from heat. Let 1/2 stick of margarine melt in. Welcome to my Kitchen! I'm Leigh Anne, the mother of four adult children and my husband and I are now empty nesters. I know the challenges of learning to cook for just the 2 of you, it feels like learning to cook all over again! After the kids left home, I found that I stopped making a lot of our family's favorite dishes and treats because those recipes just made too much food and I was tempted to eat too much!
On this channel, I invite you into my kitchen each week where we learn how to make small batch recipes with big taste. You can still enjoy all those family favorite recipes, just less of it!I look forward to meeting you in the kitchen each week with a new recipe and video.

FALL BAKE WITH ME! | PUMPKIN PRALINE DESSERT!
Hey family!! Today we have another Fall Food Friday video for y'all!!! We're making a new recipe called Pumpkin Praline Dessert. I was so surprised at how much I loved it!! I actually think I may like it better than pumpkin pie! Be sure to checkout the playlist linked below to see everyone's videos! I know they're gonna be great!
Fall Food Friday Playlist:
Pumpkin Praline Dessert Recipe:
1 15 oz can 100 percent pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filing)
1 12 oz can evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 tsps pumpkin pie spice
1 box cake mix (yellow or spice) I used white and it was amazing!
1.5 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 cup butter melted
I also added about 1/8 cup of brown sugar over the top of the walnuts
Whipped cream for topping
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease or spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan. In medium bowl, beat pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar and 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice with wire whisk until smooth. Pour into pan.
2
Sprinkle dry cake mix over pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle with pecans or walnuts. Pour melted butter evenly over top. If you want to here's where you would add the brown sugar.
3
Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 30 minutes.
4
To serve, cut dessert into 4 rows by 3 rows. Serve warm or chilled with dollop of whipped cream sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice. Store covered in refrigerator.
PRALINES | PECAN CANDY
Happy Holidays!!!
In this video, I prepare what we used to call pecan candy, now called pecan pralines.
This candy ended up with a grainy sugar consistency because I started to cooking process too low and was not stirring until the sugar was completely dissolved.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved in the initial process for an awesome, creamy, rich candy.
Each condensed milk, butter, and 1 1/3 sugar, 4 cup pecan combination should render 13 patties of candy. When separating into patties, be sure to use a smaller spoon.
Give LOVE for Christmas!!!!
How to Make Pecan Pralines
We had heard rumors that Liberty County CFO Kim McGlothlin made the best pecan pralines in coastal Georgia, so we invited her to our kitchen to taste for ourselves.
Recipe:
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups sugar
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbs butter
1tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except pecans. Stir in a large, pot and then set over the heat on the stove on medium to medium high heat. Continue to stir ingredients until the mixture reaches the boiling point. Then take off the heat and continue to stir the mixture in the soft ball stage. Add pecans and continue to stir until the mixture has lost most of its gloss. Then spoon out the mixture in small portions onto wax paper and let cool.
