Pinto Beans With Smoked Ham Hocks | How To Make Pinto Beans | Quick Boil Method
Pinto Beans Recipe:
1 pound of dry pinto beans
2 pounds of smoked ham hocks
Onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, pinto bean seasoning (to taste)
Prepare and soak beans; set aside. Simmer ham hocks on low for about two hours. Add prepared beans to ham hocks and season (do not add salt until beans are tender). Simmer beans and ham hocks for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally. When ham hocks are tender, remove meat from the bones and place back into bean pot. Continue simmering for another hour or until beans are tender.

Is this the best pinto bean recipe ever? I think so. This recipe has been in my family for generations, and I'm proud to pass it on to you.

These are the best pinto beans you'll ever eat, infused with smoky bacon, onion and garlic, they're begging for some cheese and red chile.
You'll need:
3 cups of sorted pinto beans
2 thick slices of quality bacon
1 head of garlic (you can substitute roasted garlic for fresh: )
1 onion
Annnnd, some water. Seriously, that's it.
This pinto bean recipe is a New Mexican staple I always look forward to eating whenever I go back for a visit. There is no need to soak the beans overnight if you're using an Instant Pot or other pressure cooker. The heat and pressure turns the little fiber pods into a soft and flavorful meal.
