Swedish Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes Recipe
Swedish Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes
I've slowly been creating videos to add to my YouTube Channel. It's been in the works for a while, so wish me luck! Starting off with amateur videos for now and then moving into the more professional-style.
Meatballs:
1. In a large bowl, mix the breadcrumbs together with the red onions (diced), thickened cream, 2 eggs, garlic mince, salt, ground black and white peppers and five-spice (instead of Allspice).
2. Mix with pork and beef (I accidentally used lamb) mince.
3. Add in your parsley (that I plucked from our Greenhouse). Mix well with your hands to combine.
4. Roll meatballs into about small balls or larger balls.
5. Heat up the pan with olive olive (or butter if you prefer) and fry the meatballs in batches so they don’t stew or simmer and fall apart. Transfer to a warm plate and cover with foil.
6. Once that is done, add in a bit of butter and olive oil. Whisk in the flour until it dissolves and turns brown in colour. Pour in the broth (or stock), thickened cream, sour cream, five-spice, garlic powder and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix the sauce through well to combine all of the flavours together.
7. Continue to simmer until thickened.
8. When that's done, add the meatballs inside and let it simmer on a low heat. Turn the fire off and top it up with parsley.
Mashed Potatoes:
1. Chop and boil potatoes until soft. Add in salt so it allows the potatoes to soften up faster.
2. Once that's cooked, strain it and add to a bowl.
3. Mash it with a potato masher, add in a little bit of butter, chicken stock powder, garlic powder and thickened cream for creaminess. Add in parsley if you wish.
And done. This is my own inspired version of the recipe and I love it. :)

Trying Ikea meatballs and creamy sauce| Christmas Recipe 2021#IKEA #swedishmeatballs
What are Ikea's Swedish meatballs like?
The meat of the balls is a very fine texture and the flavor is surprisingly good. The ground pork lends saltiness and moisture while the ground beef is the hardy flavor that blends to have a uniform texture.
Ikea Allemansratten Cream Sauce Mix. This sauce is delicious and so easy to make . I add a combo of 100ml of milk and 250ml of water, butter and a pinch of dried parsley.

Swedish Meatballs
1 ½ lbs ground beef
1 egg
1 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 bottle Hickory Smoked Barbeque Sauce
Mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, minced onion, salt, and pepper; let sit until bread crumbs are soft. Make into meatballs. In a skillet, add oil and brown the meatballs. Once browned, place in a baking dish and pour the barbeque sauce over the meatballs. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
This recipe came from my Aunt Judy and I remember mom making this dish for our family. The barbeque sauce makes a delicious glaze over the meatballs. We liked these served with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable. I hope you would consider making it for your family.
Blessings,
Terri
