How To make In Love with Chocolate
1 1/2 c Firmly-packed brown sugar
2/3 c Crisco shortening
1 tb Water
1 ts Vanilla
2 Eggs
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
1/3 c Cocoa
1/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
2 c Miniature semi-sweet
= chocolate chips 6 oz White chocolate
12 Candied pineapple hearts
-(opt) 1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Place sheets of foil on
countertop for cooling cookies. 2. Combine brown sugar, shortening, water and vanilla in
large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat eggs into creamed mixture. 3. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Mix into
creamed mixture at low speed just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Divide dough in half. Spread dough into 2 ungreased 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pans. 4. Bake one pan at a time at 375F (190C) for 10 to 12
minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Cool 5 minutes in pan. Cut with 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter with point towards centre
to make 6 cookies. Remove cookies to foil to cool completely. 5. Chop white chocolate into l/2-inch (1 cm) pieces. Place
pieces in a microwave safe shallow bowl. Microwave on 100%(HIGH) power for 30 seconds. Stir. Repeat at 30 second
intervals until chocolate is melted. Spread melted chocolate on top of cooled hearts. Cut pineapple, if used, into 2-inch (5 cm) hearts 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick. Top each cookie with red candied pineapple heart. Set aside to dry completely. Makes: About 1 dozen cookies -----

►1 Tbsp vanilla extract

If you ever wonder how to make a Parisian hot chocolate like it is done in France, then this video is for you. The French Hot Chocolate or “chocolat chaud” can be served for breakfast or during cold winters days served in a mug. Rich, dark, and creamy, French hot chocolate or chocolat chaud isn’t like any hot chocolate you’ve had before.

Ingredients for making French hot chocolate:
100g dark chocolate
500ml whole milk
2 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp sugar
1 pinch salt
Instructions for making Parisian hot chocolate:
- Start by thinly chopping 100g of dark chocolate
- You want it to be at least 70% for that deep chocolate flavor
- Once the pieces are roughly the same size, set the chocolate aside and pour 500 ml of whole milk into a sauce pan on your stove
- Add two cinnamon sticks and a little vanilla extract then turn the heat on the medium and begin whisking
- Cook, stirring frequently, until the milk starts to boil and he cinnamon has infused it’s flavor into the milk
- This will take roughly 10 minutes.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks, turn off the heat and add 1 tbsp of high quality cocoa powder
- Whisk to incorporate the powder into the milk, then remove from the stove top and strain the mixture through a sieve
- This will remove any lumps and excess foam to ensure your hot chocolate is super creamy and smooth
- Return the strained mixture to the stove with the heat still turned off
- Add about a tsp of sugar (or more if you want it sweeter) as well as a pinch of salt
- This is really important as it will enhance the flavor of the chocolate which you can add next
- Turn the heat back on and stir until the chocolate has completely melted
- If you like it thicker, keep cooking for a few more minutes until it reaches your desired consistency or simply remove from the heat and serve immediately
