Perfect Honey Wheat Sandwich Loaf
Greetings! When I posted the video and recipe for my perfect sandwich loaf, I got a ton of positive response. Additionally I was requested time and time again for a recipe using wheat flour or a whole wheat alternative for my perfect white sandwich loaf. Seeing that my family simply does not prefer whole wheat bread, I was not really excited about developing a recipe for one. However, my youngest does enjoy a honey wheat bread and so I soldiered on. Due to the high demand for a wheat sandwich bread recipe, I am happy to report that I have been working on developing this loaf for about the last month.
I started out by using a half all purpose, half, whole wheat flour recipe with molasses, then moved on to an all wheat recipe using molasses and then one using honey. Then moved on yet again to a recipe using half white wheat and half whole wheat and honey which was not good. Then on to a half white wheat, half whole wheat using molasses and then finally on to the big winner in the perfect wheat sandwich loaf contest, this beautiful, white wheat and honey loaf that I have studded with flax seed and hemp seed meal. This one is the best, wheat sandwich loaf I have ever made and for that matter, ever tasted.
You are going to love this recipe that is filled with delicious flavors, some great amendments and a great nutritional boost from the seed meals.
This one is perfect for sandwiches and wonderful for toast. It gives you what you are looking for in a squishy, satisfying sandwich loaf with a flavor that is out of this world. It may have taken a while, but I finally got this one right.
I hope this makes all you wheat bread fans happy! I know it made me happy with the finished product and even the rest of the family loves this, maybe we are wheat bread converts too?!
I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!

Honey Cinnamon Molasses Apple Bread - slow cooker, organic whole wheat, sugar free
Autumn comes with its own unique smells and flavours of cinnamon, molasses, pure organic honey, apples and warm breads. Can we combine these into a healthy recipe? Apples are an easy and tasty way to get antioxidants, flavanoids, fibre and phytonutrients. The lovely warm flavour of cinnamon comes with health benefits as it can lower blood sugar and reduce heart disease factors. Organic unsulphured molasses contains vital vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, magneseum, vitamin B6 and seleneum. Organic whole wheat flour has bran fibre, B vitamins and minerals. Being organic, this flour should be free of pesticides associated with wheat farming. Raw unpasteurized honey has antioxidants and antibacterial and antifungal properties. Add some protein with the egg white meringue topping, sweetened with stevia and sprinkled with more cinnamon!
It was hard to resist a second helping when this treat was still warm from the oven. A 1/8th serving of this healthy apple bread comes in at 218 calories. I would say its worth every bite!
