Let’s make smoked turkey legs with @sparklingice Grape Raspberry. #ad I love adding Sparkling Ice to my sauces and glazes for some extra flavor. #FlavorCrew ⠀
⠀
We’ll start by brining the turkey overnight. This is make the legs super juicy and flavorful. For the brine, combine 1 gallon water, 1 cup kosher salt and 1/2 cup sugar. Make sure everything is dissolved, the brine solution is cooled off and pour it over the turkey. Put these in the fridge and let them brine overnight.
The next day, start the grill, bring it up to 275 degrees and set it up for indirect cooking. Spray the turkey legs with cooking spray and season with the following:
- 1 tbsp kosher salt⠀
- 1 tbsp pepper⠀
- 1 tbsp paprika⠀
- 1 tsp onion powder⠀
- 1 tsp garlic powder⠀
- 1 tsp chili powder⠀
- 1/2 tsp cayenne⠀
⠀
Put the turkey legs on the grill and cook until they reach 170 degrees internal temperature, approximately 1.5-2 hours.
⠀
Whiles these are cooking, prep the glaze:⠀
⠀
- 1/4 cup @sparklingice Grape Raspberry
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp seasoning mix
Mix and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. ⠀
⠀
Brush the sauce on the turkey and continue cooking until they reach an internal temperature of 180 degrees. Pull them from the grill, rest 10 minutes and enjoy!
And these came out delicious! So flavorful, smoky and that homemade sauce just brought everything together. Give them a try and let me know what you think. #grillinwithdad #bbq #barbeque #tasty #recipe #blessed #feedfeed #eeeeeats #nomnom #howto #chicken #turkey #delicious #foodstagram #foodvideo
