King Prawns and Tomato - Classic Chinese Dish Recipe made EASY!!!!!
King Prawns and Tomato is a classic Chinese dish served in restaurants and takeaways. Made with fresh tomatoes, juicy king prawns, onions, garlic and yes - tomato ketchup!
I don't know a lot about its origins. What I do know is that it is one of my earliest memories of food as it was my favourite dish that my grandfather made on special occasions like Christmas, birthdays and Chinese New Year celebrations. In those days he made it with the shells of the king prawns still on and part of the fun was peeling them and making a mess as we ate. I was only little then but I usually got to sit with him at the head of the table which made it even more special.
Happy days!
This dish brings back a lot of nostalgia and early memories which makes creating and eating it extra special.
