How To make Falafel Sandwiches
HUMUS DIP:
1/2 c Mashed garbanzo beans
2 tb Oil
2 tb Lemon juice
1 ts Salt
1/4 c Tahini
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1 ts Sugar
TAHINI DIP:
1 c Tahini
1/4 c Oil
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Lemon juice
1/4 ts Sugar
1/4 ts Ground ginger
FALAFEL:
1/2 c Dry split green peas
Water 1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Pepper
1/2 c Garbanzo bean flour
1/4 ts Onion powder
1 ts Chopped parsley
1/2 ts Ground cumin
2 c Oil
6 Small pita breads
Sliced tomatoes & onions Dill pickle slices Combine beans, 2 tablespoons oil, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and 1 teaspoon sugar. Mix well. Set aside. For dip, combine 1/4 cup tahini, 1/4 cup oil, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, sugar and 1/4 teaspoon
ginger. Blend well. Set aside. To make falafel, soak split peas in water to cover overnight. Drain and mash. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, garbanzo bean flour, onion powder, parsley, 1/2 cup water and cumin and mix well. Shape into small balls. Fry in 2 cups hot oil and drain on paper towels. Slit pita breads to form pockets. Fill pockets with split pea balls and tomato, onion and pickle slices. Top with humus or tahini dip.

FALAFEL SANDWICH WRAP (with Falafel Recipe making Process) - Middle Eastern Food at Hummy Yummy...
✓ This shop is amongst our favourite Falafel Wrap shops in London. They serve up fully loaded Falafel Wraps for only £5.00.
They wrap it all up with a Middle Eastern flat bread; which is almost like an Indian style Roti bread.
What makes the wraps that they serve up such a treat is that once the wrap is fully loaded up with the various filling, it is then finished off by being toasted in a sandwich grill.
What makes the fully loaded pure vegan and vegetarian wraps even more special is that as well as the freshly fried Falafel balls it is offered with some (or all) of the following delicious fillings:
* Hummus (made in-house)
* Tabbouleh
* Mediterranean Salad
* Greek Salad
* Iceberg Lettuce
* Cucumber
* Tomato
* Pickled Gherkin
* Pickled Turnip (coloured pink with Beetroot)
* you can even add fried slices of Aubergine
The fillings are then drizzled with the following sauces:
* Homemade Tahini (Sesame Sauce)
* Garlic Sauce
* Homemade Chilli Sauce
What's even more special in this video is that Chefs Ali and Mohammed reveals their recipe secrets for making the perfect falafel
The falafel itself is a combination of various kinds of vegetables, Secret herbs and spices:
* Spring Onion
* Red & Green Capsicum
* Leeks
* Onion
* Fresh Green Coriander (including the stems)
* Parsley
* Dill
* Green Chillies
* Celery
* Garlic
* Chickpeas
* Broad-beans
(Both the Chickpeas & Broad-beans are soaked overnight with 3 changes of water)
After it's soaked it's all blended into a paste and then the following ingredients are added:
* Mixed Herbs & Spices such as Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Black Pepper, Paprika, Garlic.
* Water.
* Sesame Seeds
* Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Powder)
There is no secret to the recipe & preparation because these falafal making masters wrap up everything in full view of customers, please be warned that these wraps are absolutely delicious!!!
This is vegetarian / vegan Middle Eastern Street food at it's very best but at very affordable street food prices, but in a restaurant!!!
Here the falafel are always being constantly fried so in the actual wrap they retain a great crisp and crunchy texture. The owners use a traditional homemade family recipe to create authentic tasting falafels.
Like we said, the served wrap is fully loaded, so make sure you visit with an empty stomach..........or with a friend to share.
