Southern fried chicken is made to be fiery, peppery with the ultimate crunch and that’s exactly what this recipe is!
Honestly in my humble opinion, this the best southern fried chicken - can I say that about my own recipe? ????
Your key ingredients in this are the 2 parts starch to 1 part flour so you get a super crunchy coating!
This tastes amazing in a simple burger with a delicious light spicy mayo.
INGREDIENTS:
-Chicken breast/thigh, flattened,
-2 parts corn starch (potato starch also works),
-1 part flour,
-milk,
Seasoning for wet and dry ingredients:
-paprika,
-cayenne pepper,
-garlic powder/granules,
-white pepper,
-black peppers,
-salt,

2 lbs chicken wings
2 tbsps corn starch
salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika
1 lime
Honey Chipotle Sauce:
1/2 can Chipotles in adobo
1/4-1/2 cup honey
2 tbsps lime juice
2 tbsps soy sauce
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 tbsps brown sugar
2 tbsps butter
1 tbsp garlic
2 tbsps apple cider vinegar
salt, pepper, smoked paprika
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425. Wash and DRY wings. Season with your favorite wing seasoning and then toss in 2 tbsps corn starch. Place wings on a wire rack and place in the oven on the middle rack. Make your sauce by warming the ingredients and then blending until smooth. Adjust based on your spice tolerance. Flip the wings every 15 minutes or so to ensure they're cooking evenly. During the last 5-10 mins you can increase the heat to 450-500 to get them extra crispy if desired. (If you like your wings Fried Hard when you order them) Toss in the sauce and garnish with lime zest.
Crispy Honey Sriracha Oven Baked Wings | Oven Baked Wings Recipe
This honey sriracha sauce is quite delicious and incredibly simple, but merely an afterthought here. The real star of the show is the strange, but effective technique of coating the wings with corn starch after seasoning it s. The chicken becomes bone-dry, and eventually crisps up to something very similar to what would come out of a deep fryer. The recipe can be done in the air fryer as well.
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Honey Sriracha Sauce
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 cup sriracha sauce
1/3 cup honey
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons corn starch (mixed with 3-4 tablespoon of water) or more if needed

8 whole chicken wings
Vegetable oil for deep frying
4-5 cloves garlic, finely sliced
4-5 large dried red chillies, soaked in hot water for 10 minutes and roughly chopped
Handful toasted peanuts
1 tbsp. sesame seeds
The Marinade
½ tsp. sea salt
½ tsp. black pepper
½ thumb sized piece ginger
2 cloves garlic
200g cornflour or corn starch
1 tsp baking powder
The Sauce
1 tsp English mustard
2 tbsp. gochujang (Korean Chilli Paste)
2 tbsp. light soy sauce
3 tbsp. maple syrup or honey
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. rice vinegar
