Hi everyone! Welcome to my channel. In today's video I will be making a Cowboy Bacon Burgers. It's packed with bacon, cheddar, jalapeños and topped with tomato bacon jam. Cowboy Bacon Burgers
INGREDIENTS
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup diced onion
1 tbsp chopped jalapeno
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 tbsp onion powder
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 slices cooked bacon
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices of tomato
4 sourdough buns
1 tbsp prepared bacon jam
2 tbsp chipotle mayo
salt
pepper
1 tsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
Chipotle Mayo
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 chipotle pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
Onion Crisps
1 large onion, sliced and separated into rings
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup flour
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups oil for frying
Directions
For the Chipotle Mayo, in a blender, place mayonnaise, onion powder, garlic powder, sugar, lemon juice and the chipotle pepper and mix until well combined. Place in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
For the Onions
Place the onion rings in a bowl, then season with salt and pepper. The, add the butter milk to coat the onions. In another bowl, add the flour, then season with salt and pepper. Remove the onions from the butter milk and place in the flour mixture until well coated. (This may be achieved by using a plastic ziplock bag or a paper bag)
Pour oil into a deep fryer or a saucepan and heat oil to 350F.
Fry the onions until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove from oil and place a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Sprinkle with salt.
Cowboy Burgers
In a bowl, mix the ground beef together with the cheese, jalapeños, parsley, onion powder, salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties, then fry the burgers and bacon on both sides. The burgers should reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees. Add the cheese slices until melted on the burger patties. Toast your buns for about 30 seconds. To arrange the burger place chipotle mayo on the bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato, the burger patty , bacon, onion strings and tomato bacon jam. Enjoy!
