How To make Chocolate Cherry Cake and Frosting
CAKE:
1 pk Devils food cake mix (with
-pudding in mix) 1/2 c Dairy sour cream
2 Eggs; beaten
1 ts Almond extract
21 oz Cherry pie filling
FROSTING:
6 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 tb Margarine or butter
2 1/2 c Powdered sugar; sifted
1/2 ts Almond extract
3 tb Milk (to 5 tb)
CAKE: Mix together cake mix, sour cream, eggs, almond extract and pie filling BY HAND. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool 5-10 minutes and top with frosting. FROSTING: Melt chocolate chips and margarine or butter together. Stir in powdered sugar, almond extract and milk to spreading consistency. Spread warm frosting on warm cake. Brioche is one of my favourite doughs to work with. It is extremely simple to make and it’s super versatile and that is why I keep coming back to it. The brioche playlist on my channel is full of different recipes savoury and sweet. Sweet ones are usually the more popular ones, so I decided to make this cherry and chocolate filled loaf.
I saw a similar recipe on the King Arthur Baking website and thought I could adapt it to my style and turn it into a nice sliceable loaf. Once again, my USA Pan Pullman tin came in handy. It’s been used quite a lot in the last few months and for good reason. It is one of my favourite pieces of baking equipment. You can use a regular 2lb (900g) tin for this recipe.

Easy Chocolate Cherry Cake
Hi everyone,
This is the easiest chocolate cherry bundt cake ever because it starts with a cake mix and includes only 3 ingredients, but comes out tasting homemade and super moist.
I don’t think you’ll find an easier cake to make than this one. It comes together quickly and it turns out beautifully every single time. If you’re a fan of black forest cake, then this one is definitely for you.

The easiest cake you’ll ever make! This frosted 4 Ingredient Chocolate Cherry Cake starts with a chocolate cake mix and is loaded with cherry filling.
Variations for Chocolate Cake
Here are a few variations you can use for this recipe:
Add a teaspoon of espresso powder or a tablespoon of strong coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor.
Use vanilla extract instead of almond extract.
Use a different pie filling. Try blueberry or raspberry for a delicious twist!
Use a different flavor of cake mix. You could easily use a white cake mix for a non-chocolate version of this cherry cake.
Mix in a cup of mini chocolate chips to the batter before baking.
Ingredients
1 box chocolate cake mix
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
21 ounces cherry pie filling
1 tub chocolate frosting or 2 cups of homemade frosting
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350º fahrenheit. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with cooking spray.
Using a hand mixer, mix cake mix, eggs, milk and almond extract. Scrape the sides of the bowl as needed. The mixture will be like coarse crumbs.
Add in pie filling and mix well.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cake tests done.
Allow the cake to cool, then frost with chocolate frosting.
Store at room temperature.
