Chewy Date Bars
To give your bars a thicker texture add in ingredients like:
Kamut puff
Brazil nuts
Goji berries
Dried fruits
You can also bake your bars on 350 for 10 minutes. Let them cool for a less soft texture.
How To Make Chewy Chocolate Coconut Walnut Bars
Easy, delicious, #gluten free, chewy #chocolate coconut bars! Perfectly chewy and chocolaty with the natural taste of coconut on a #shortbread #crust. This dessert is a real crowd pleaser. You are going to want to double the recipe. These bars store very well in the freezer and of course I just love them stored chilled in the refrigerator and have with a cup of hot tea or anytime snack. This recipe is extraordinarily versatile. If you want to eliminate the #nuts or add a different nut go ahead...the same with #coconut. Truly make this your own! Enjoy!

EASY FOOD FOR THE GODS RECIPE | Dates and Walnut bars | Very chewy!
*Although you will truly feel and taste the chewiness with the use of Glucose syrup/liquid, you may try using other syrup like ingredient for this. A good alternative is Honey!(just be careful because it may be a little sweeter. I haven't tried it so i really can't guarantee. Try it and let me now on the comments section below! :)
*If you will be using Unsalted Butter for this, add around 1/4tsp of salt to it.
*Bake at 150C for 30min - 40min(depends on your oven and syrup you used).
I used an 8x12 rectangular pan here.
After coming out of the oven, let it cool at room temperature completely before cutting.

Chewy Date and Seed Bars (nut free, gluten free**)
**CERTAIN OAT PRODUCTS MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF GLUTEN BECAUSE THE WAY THEY ARE GROWN AN/OR PROCESSED**
(Although I'm sure anyone with severe gluten related problems, already knows this)
These have lots of protein too!
I found all the ingredients I needed at the Bulk Barn. If the seeds are not available at your local grocery store, try a health food store.
1 cup chopped pitted dates (this can't be left out because it acts like a binder to hold everything together, if you can think of something that would do the same job, try that).
1/2 cup water
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup hulled, roasted, unsalted sunflower seeds
1 cup hulled, roasted, unsalted pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
1/4 cup medium unsweetened coconut
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup oat flour
1/4 cup canola oil
3/4 tsp salt
Combine the dates and water in a medium saucepan and cook over medium low heat until simmering. Cook and stir for about 4 minutes until the dates are soft, mushy and most of the water is gone.
Combine all the ingredients (except for dates) in a large bowl. Once combined, add the dates and stir until thoroughly mixed.
Prepare a small 8x8 baking dish by lining it with parchment or aluminium foil, grease the foil or parchment. Pour the mixture in the pan and press mixture evenly in the bottom of the pan.
Bake at 350F for about 35 minutes or until top is evenly golden.
Let cool completely.
Remove from pan by holding the paper/foil and lifting out.
Cut into bars.
Store in a sealed container at room temperature.
Makes about 15 bars, depending on how small you cut them.
