How To make Cheese Filled Salisbury Steaks
1 lb Ground beef
1/4 c Crushed crackers
1 tb Worcestershire sauce
1/4 t Pepper
4 Sticks cheese, 2x1 in.
10 1/2 oz Beef broth
1/2 Broth can water
1 lg Onion, sliced
1 tb Cornstarch
in med. bowl, mix lightly but thoroughly beef, crumbs, worcestershire sauce and pepper. shape in 4 oval patties. enclose a cheese stick in each patty, covering cheese completely and tightly. brown patties in a little butter in pan.
in skillet with cover, bring broth and water to boiling. add patties to skillet. surround with onions. cover. simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. remove meat.
blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water. stir into skillet. cook mixture, stirring until thickened. add meat and heat if necessary. From: Taillon@access.Mountain.Net Date: Tue, 2 Jan 1996

Salisbury Steak - TV Dinner Style - Food Wishes
Back when I was a kid, and our parents didn’t have time to make a meal, we’d get to enjoy something called a TV dinner. They weren’t that good, but we didn’t care, since we got to set up our specially designed trays, and eat in front of the screen. One of the most popular TV dinner entrees of that era was the Salisbury steak, and this is my not-too-modern take on that classic dish. Enjoy!

Hi friends! Do you love homemade salisbury steak, too?
This salisbury steak is seriously the BOMB. It’s easy to make, and it is comfort food at it’s best. Skip out on buying the frozen stuff, and try making this Southern Style Salisbury Steak. This delicious homemade salisbury steak with homemade onion gravy is savory and filling. The gravy is great over mashed potatoes as well, the perfect sides for this recipe!

0:25 - Add ground beef to a bowl.
0:28 - Add an egg.
0:33 - Add bread crumbs.
0:38 - Add minced garlic.
0:42 - Drizzle in worcestershire sauce.
0:46 - Sprinkle in seasoning salt.
0:51 - Mix well.
1:05 - Form the meat mixture into patties.
1:17 - Drizzle oil into a pan.
1:19 - Place the patties into the pan.
1:30 - Brown the patties on each side.
1:44 - Chop an onion.
1:50 - Remove the patties from the pan.
1:57 - Add the onions to the pan.
2:02 - Fry the onions until translucent.
2:07 - Sprinkle in all purpose flour.
2:11 - Mix well.
2:15 - Add ketchup.
2:20 - Mix well.
2:27 - Pour in beef broth.
2:32 - Mix well.
2:38 - Place the patties back into the pan.
2:47 - Spoon the onions and gravy over the patties.
3:00 - Let cook for 15-20 minutes.
3:10 - Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.

INGREDIENTS
For the steak burgers:
1 pound (454 g) ground beef
1/4 cup (30 g) breadcrumbs
1 large egg
2 teaspoons (10 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) kosher salt
lots fresh ground black pepper , or to taste
1 Tablespoon (15 ml) cooking oil , for searing beef patties
For the Mushroom Gravy
3 Tablespoons (30 g) butter
8 ounces (227 g) mushrooms , sliced
1 medium onion , sliced
2 cloves garlic , minced
1/4-1/2 cup (30-60 g) flour , depending on how thick you like your gravy
3 cups (720 ml) broth (beef, chicken or vegetable)
kosher salt or sea salt , or to taste
black pepper to taste

4 slices Swiss cheese , or other preferred cheese
1/2 cup (105 g) mashed potatoes
