Today I’m trying out a recipe for Pot-Roast with Sour Cream Gravy out of the 1971 Betty Crocker Recipe Card Library! You never know what you’re going to get when trying vintage recipes, but this one was really good!

INGREDIENTS:
POT ROAST:
2 tbsp flour
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
2 ½ lb beef chuck pot roast
1 tbsp shortening
¼ cup water
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp fresh dill (or ¼ tsp dried dill)
5 small potatoes, peeled and chopped
5 carrots, peeled and quartered
1 lb zucchini, quartered
GRAVY:
1 tbsp roast drippings
1 tbsp flour
1 cup roast drippings
salt, to taste
black pepper, to taste
1 cup sour cream
TOPPING:
¾ cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
½ tsp salt
⅛ tsp mustard powder
dash of pepper
paprika

Crock-Pot Beef Stroganoff | Simple Weeknight Dinner | Safeway
This Beef Stroganoff dish can easily be transformed from dinner to appetizer! Add the stroganoff to sour dough toast for a filling and flavorful appetizer, perfect for game day!
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 cup dry red wine (broth can be substituted for the wine)
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 lb mushrooms, cut in half
1 large onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbs all-purpose flour
1 tsp dried thyme
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
DIRECTIONS
1. To a crockpot, add onion, mushrooms, beef, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper and wine. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
2. Stir beef mixture and remove 1/4 cup broth. Whisk flour into broth and stir into crockpot. Turn crockpot temperature to high and cook for 10-15 minutes.
3. Add sour cream and mix well. Serve over egg noodles or rice, if desired.

This is one of the easiest things I make but my family loves it. I hope my easy recipe becomes your easy recipe. Please make sure to comment below and tell me what you thought when you made it.
Beef Stroganoff
1 16 0z box of pasta ( noodles or bow ties work best)
1 & 1/2 pounds of ground beef
3/4 cup gravy mix
3 cups water
1/2 of sour cream
1 onion soup packet
1. Start a pot of water to boil for the pasta
2. In another pot start browning the ground beef. When it is half way cooked through add the soup mix and continue browning until cooked thoroughly.
3. When water boils add your pasta to heavily salted water.
4. Once meat is cooked add 3 cups of water and then add the gravy mix and simmer 3-5 minutes till it thickens.
5. Drain cooked pasta and add to meat and gravy mix.
6. Stir in sour cream and enjoy.
