Cheesy Caramelized Onion Bacon Dip
RECIPE COURTESY OF TRISHA YEARWOOD
Level: Easy
Total: 1 hr 35 min
Active: 40 min
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients
8 slices thick bacon
4 large Vidalia or sweet onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon kosher salt
One 8-ounce brick cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup grated yellow Cheddar
3/4 cup grated Swiss cheese
One 10- to 12-inch boule
Crudites, for serving
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the bacon on a sheet pan fitted with a wire rack. Roast the bacon until crispy, about 20 minutes.
Pour the bacon fat from the sheet pan into a large skillet and warm over medium-high heat. Add the onions to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, for about 1 minute, then sprinkle in the garlic powder, ground mustard, pepper and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are browned, soft and caramelized, 30 to 45 minutes. Set aside.
Preheat the broiler.
Stir together the cream cheese, yogurt, mayonnaise, parsley, Worcestershire, 1/2 cup Cheddar, 1/2 cup Swiss and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt until completely combined. Stir in the warm onions.
Cut the top of the boule off and hollow out the center. Place the boule on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Save the scooped out chunks of bread and cut the removed top into pieces to dip later.
Fill the boule with the onion mixture and sprinkle the top with the remaining cheeses, holding back a tablespoon of each. Cut the bacon into 2-inch pieces and arrange them like the rays of the sun around the perimeter of the dip, then sprinkle the remaining cheese in the middle, overlapping the bacon to make an extra-cheesy center. Broil, watching closely to prevent burning, until the bacon is crisp and the cheese is melted beneath, about 2 minutes. Serve warm with crudites and reserved chunks of bread and use the bread bowl/bacon for dipping!

Cook time: 25-30 min
Total time: 30-40 min
EQUIPMENT
· cutting board and chef knife
· large mixing bowl
· medium sized frying pan
· 2 small bowls or containers
INGREDIENTS
Produce & Protein
· 10-20 Brussel sprouts, trimmed and halved
· 2-3 oz bacon, cut into small pieces
· ½ onion, sliced
· 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
· a few sprigs of parsley, leaves removed from stems and finely chopped
Pantry Ingredients & Seasoning
· Olive oil
· 1-2 tsp Chef Ange Base Seasoning (see page #)
· salt & pepper
· 1-2 tablespoon white wine vinegar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375F convection or 400F regular oven
Ingredient Prep
1. Trim Brussel sprouts and cut in half. Remove any discolored leaves and place in a large mixing bowl.
2. Slice onions
3. Crush and chop garlic
4. Cut bacon
5. Place prepped onions, garlic and bacon in small containers for stovetop assembly
Assembly
1. Preheat oven to 375F convection or 400F regular oven
2. Toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil and base seasoning
3. Arrange on baking sheet with cut side up. (Line baking sheet with silicon mat, parchment paper or aluminum foil to save on clean up)
4. Place tray in oven for 20-30 minutes or until browned and loose leaves are slightly charred. (Periodically check in on the Brussels sprouts in the oven and give the pan a shake and/or turn the pan to get even browning).
5. Brown bacon pieces in a frying pan over medium to medium high heat. Move pieces around in the pan to get even cooking.
6. After fully cooked, remove pieces keeping rendered bacon fat in the pan.

8. Add garlic and sauté 1 min.
9. Add heavy splash of white wine vinegar and let evaporate a little bit.
10. Shut off heat and season with salt and pepper
11. Return cooked bacon to the pan and sprinkle with chopped parsley
12. When Brussels sprouts are done, transfer to large bowl and toss with bacon and onion mixture

BLT Bacon Lettuce Tomato Cheesecake with Michael's Home Cooking
How to make a (BLT) Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Cheesecake. Please find full recipe in description below video.
Ingredients:
25 individual saltine crackers
2 ounces butter or 1/2 stick
1/2 pound bacon
12 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
pinch of salt and two shakes of pepper
2 eggs
1 shallot or one small green onion
1 cup of sun dried tomatoes packed in oil (I used 1/2 cup, wish I used more)
Iceberg Lettuce for presentation
Fresh Parsley for presentation (optional)
Chop your saltines into sand and add your melted butter.
Bake your crust in your Springform Pan for 15 minutes @ 350F
Bake your bacon for 15 minutes @ 400F
Cool your crust and cut up your bacon.
Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour into your springform pan.
Bake in a pan with hot water coming up the sides of the springform pan for 40 minutes @ 325F
Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate overnight.
I like to allow it to sit out at least one hour before serving.
This is much like a Cheese Ball, quite good!
I would use the whole jar of sun dried tomatoes, it will be better with more tomatoes. I just got a bit over half of the jar out and chopped them for 1/2 cup.
Thank you for watching!
