Baked Apple Oatmeal is a tasty breakfast that combines the delicious flavours of apple and oats.Its loaded with chewy oats,studded with chunky apples and crunchy pecans,spiced up with cinnamon and sweetened with maple syrup which makes baked apple oatmeal a perfect breakfast thats sure to become your new favourite!
Ingredients:
rolled oats -1 cup
baking powder -1/2 tsp
chopped pecans -1/2 cup
ground cinnamon -3/4 tsp
ground cloves -1/4 tsp
ground ginger -1/4 tsp
milk -1 cup
pure maple syrup -1/4 cup
vegetable oil -1/8 cup
vanilla extract -1 tsp
chopped apple -1
egg-1
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.In a medium size bowl combine dry ingredients: apples, oatmeal, baking powder, spices and salt. In another small bowl combine wet ingredients: milk, eggs, maple syrup, oil and vanilla extract and whisk until well combined .Add chopped apples and mix well.Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir well to combine. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish and bake on a for 45 minutes.Cover with foil for the last 5 minutes if top is getting too brown. Cool on a baking rack for 10 minutes. APPLE OATMEAL RECIPE
Ingredients:
2 cups old-fashioned oats
2 apples (preferably sweet), chopped
4 cups water
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp coconut oil
Sweeteners: honey, maple syrup or agave
Toppings: fresh berries, chopped nuts, dried fruits, chopped dark chocolate
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per serving):
310 calories, fat 9.8g, carb 53.2g, protein 6g
*sweetened with 1 tsp honey and topped with 1/4 cup blueberries
Preparation:
In a cooking pot, heat the coconut oil over medium heat.
Add the apples and saute for 3-4 minutes, until apples start to soften and release juices.
Add the oats and toast for 1-2 minutes, just to bring up their nutty flavor.
Sprinkle the cinnamon and stir well.
Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
Gently simmer for 10 minutes constantly stirring with the back of the wooden spoon.
Transfer to a bowl or plate and sweeten with honey or maple syrup.
Top the oatmeal with chopped walnuts and apple slices, or with: any kind of different nuts, fresh berries, dried fruits, chopped dark chocolate, cottage cheese.
