How to Make Apple Spice Cake
From pumpkin spice to cinnamon sugar, fall is full of decadent flavors that warm you from the inside-out, despite the cooling weather. One of our favorite recipes to make when autumn rolls around is this rustic Apple Spice Cake with Brown Sugar Frosting, which makes the most of fall’s best flavors like fresh apple, pumpkin pie spice and toasted walnuts.
This layered cake is so delicious, it inspired our friends over at Bustle to develop a recipe for hand-held, air-fried apple pies with a brown sugar glaze. Head on over to their YouTube channel to learn how to make ‘em! And we want to see what you’re cooking up, so be sure to tag Taste Of Home and Bustle in your finished products.

Easy and Moist Cinnamon Apple Cake Recipe
Apple Cinnamon Cake Recipe
:: Cook Me Food ::
This apple cinnamon cake is the only apple cake recipe you’ll need. It’s perfectly moist, loaded with apples and cinnamon taste. Top with sweet icing glaze that sets and crinkles when you cut and take a bite!
Cake:
• 2 medium-sized apples (chopped) *Using smitten apples in the video
• 2 tsp lemon juice
• 2 tbsp light brown sugar
• 2 eggs (room temperature)
• 2/3 cup (130g) white sugar
• 1/3 cup (81g) sour cream
• ¼ cup (60 ml) milk
• ¼ cup (60 ml) canola oil
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 ½ cup (188g) all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp salt
Cinnamon topping:
• ¼ cup (50g) white sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tbsp unsalted butter (melted & slightly cooled)
Icing glaze:
• 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
• 2 tsp milk
*Using an 8-inch round baking pan in the video
:: HELPFUL HINTS ::
* Measure your flour correctly. Adding too much flour will result to dry and crumbly texture of the cake when baked. Fluff the flour in the container before scooping it out. Lightly spoon the flour directly into the measuring cup until it mounds well above the top of the measuring cup. Using the back of the dinner knife (non-serrated side is facing the flour), sweep the knife over the top of the cup to remove the excess flour.
* Let the cake rest for 15-30 minutes before adding the icing glaze on top of the cake.
Happy baking!

New video every Thursday!!
The 1st bday cake might be a tricky find. You want your little one to taste it (if not even play with it) so you have to pay attention to the ingredients'list. Since you started with solid foods you've been careful not to give him sugar or salt or cow milk. At the same time you would like to offer to the rest of the party a tasty and inviting cake. Tricky, I told you :-)
That's why even if my little Alex is not 1 yet, I'm already testing and trying 1st bday cake ideas for his birthday! and when I find a good recipe to put in the short list, it's time to share it with you!
Today I prepared an apple, banana&yogurt cake: tasty, delicate and soft. No egg whites (they might be allergenic if you haven't introduced in his diet yet), no butter, no milk, no sugar. And with some baby icing (cream cheese&apple sauce) I created a multi layer baby cake. Healthy and yummy.
Let me know what you think!

Old Fashioned Fresh Apple Cake
Hey everyone!
I hope you love this cake. It's an old fashioned fresh apple cake that’s really moist, easy to mix and it's covered in a rich brown sugar and butter glaze.
This cake is pretty easy to make. It’s virtually a one-bowl cake and the hardest thing about it is chopping the apples.
It’s quick to put together that it makes a perfect family or fall get-together dessert and the best cake for potlucks.
Much love,
Kara
