How To make Slovak Doughnuts
1 pk Yeast
1/2 c Sugar
1 pt Scalded, cooled milk
1/2 ts Vanilla
7 c Flour (Approx)
1 ts Salt
4 ea Egg yolks
1/4 lb Butter
1 ea Egg
1/2 x Grated rind, lemon or orang
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. Add 2 cups of flour. Let stand in warm place 30 minutes. Beat egg yolks, egg, sugar, vanilla, rind (grated rind of 1/2 lemon or 1/2 orange) and salt until light. Add this to the
yeast mixture. Melt butter and mix in, then add remaining flour. Cover and let rise one hour or until double in bulk. When light, turn on floured board and pat with hands till dough is half an inch thick. Cut with a doughnut cutter, cover and let rise again until light. Drop in hot fat and fry till done. -----

- 250 gr All Purpose Flour ( 1 3/4 cup )
- 220 gr Milk ( 8 ounces ) ( You may need an extra 2-3 tbsp, check the video for explanation and consistency)
- 1 packet of Dry Yeast
SERVE HOT with any sugar glaze of your choice! These donuts are meant to be served immediately and coated in syrup.

Oliebollen are traditionally eaten on New Year's Eve in the Netherlands . They are also sold in oliebollen stalls all year round at fairs in the Netherlands.
DUTCH OLIEBOLLEN. HOLLANDSE OLIEBOLLEN. DUTCH RAISIN DOUGHNUTS.
Ingredients:
100 gr raisins
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp cinnamon powder
3 tsp brown sugar
1 egg
3 ½ gr instant dry yeast
250 ml Luke warm milk
280 gr all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
PREPARATION:
- Soak the raisins in hot water for 5 minutes
- Drain and set aside
- Add yeast and sugar to the milk and mix.
- Sieve the flour in a bowl and add the salt and cinnamon powder.
- Add the milk/yeast mixture to the flour and mix.
- Add the egg and mix.
- Add the raisins and give it a last mix.
- Cover and let it rise in a warm place (microwave or in the oven with the light on) for 45-60 minutes.
In a deep pan heat up enough oil for deep frying.
Form a ball with 2 spoons and drop it slowly in the hot oil.
Turn over every so often so that it gets golden brown all over.
Remove and place on paper towel to drain excess oil.
Arrange on a serving plate and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Simple Sugar Glaze for Donuts
Simple glaze to be used for donuts or cookies!
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tbsp of milk
1/4 tsp of vanilla
pinch of salt
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together making sure you have incorporated all the ingredients and your glaze is ready!
