1 c Brown sugar 1 c Water 2 tb Shortening 1 c Raisins 1/2 ts Salt 1 ts Baking soda 1 ts Cinnamon 1 1/2 c Flour 1/2 ts Ginger In a pot, combine the sugar, water, raisins, shortening & salt. Stir over a gentle heat until the sugar & shortening has melted. Raise heat & bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat & cool. Sift dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the cooled mixture & mix well. Drop by the teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
