My Family's Recipe for Kolache (A Slovak Walnut Roll)
Every year for Christmas, my family enjoys this recipe for kolache, a Slovak walnut roll. We also have it at Easter, but Christmas is when it's the real star of the show.
Typically, we eat this kolache at all times of the day. At Christmas, we serve it with dessert, but you'll also find us enjoying a slice at breakfast or lunch too. Gotta love those recipes you can eat all day!
Learn how to make the dough and roll it all up with the filling of walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon. It's pretty easy to make, but it tastes wonderful!

Sausage Kolache Recipe - Sausage in a Biscuit Blanket ~ Texas Kolache
Learn how to make kolaches with a breakfast sausage in a biscuit blanket. This easy sausage kolache recipe / sausage in a blanket can feed a family and be made ahead of time for a quick breakfast.
Texas kolaches are made in just a few minutes with a biscuit.
How are pigs in blanket different from kolaches? Pigs (sausage link) in a blanket can range from a scratch dough, a biscuit or rolled in a pancake. A traditional Czech kolache is a pastry dough with a fruit or sweet topping. A Texas kolache is a savory meat filling, usually sausage wrapped in a kolache pastry dough or in our case – a biscuit!
