IRISH COFFEE WITH BAILEYS
Who doesn't love a good pick me up? This Irish Coffee with Baileys is exactly that and everything you love about a classic Irish Coffee...but better. Because Baileys. And I think we can all agree that Baileys makes everything better...amirite?
I had a thing for Jameson Irish Whiskey back in my bartending days so even though me and coffee don't quite get along, Jameson, too, always makes everything better. For me anyway. For the night anyway (the morning is a whole different story). For this simple Irish Coffee with Baileys, you only need 3 other ingredients besides the obvious Irish Whiskey + Baileys - two of which are optional. Coffee - a must in this Irish Coffee with Baileys. And Maple syrup - for added sweetness, which is optional. And/or Whipped cream - for added creaminess. Also optional.
This coffee is good any way you do it and no matter the time of day. I think I'm going to go whip one up right now! #irishcoffee #coffeedrinks #recipevideo

The internet is full of Irish Coffee recipes, most of them claiming to be the most authentic or original version. And each of those posts often ends with a section of irate commenters, eager to explain how the author is doing it wrong.
So it's with great trepidation that I'm sharing my take on Irish Coffee. I make no claims that this is the most authentic recipe. But I can tell you that it's tediously tested, follows most traditional guidelines, and tastes delicious.

INGREDIENTS:
- 4 oz hot coffee
- 2 oz Irish whiskey
- 2 oz heavy cream
- 1 tsp dark brown sugar or demerara syrup
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat treat the glass with hot water. This is simply adding hot water to the cocktail glass so that it does not leach heat from the cocktail.
2. Prepare your hot coffee.
3. Whip some heavy cream so that it begins to thicken - to the point where it can stay as a drop on your finger. We don't want whipped cream, but we also dont want straight cream - we want somewhere in between.
4. Empty the hot water from the glass.
5. Add the sugar or syrup to the glass and add about an ounce of hot coffee. Then, using a bar spoon, stir until the sugar has dissolved into the coffee.
6. Add the whiskey.
7. Continue to add coffee until you have a gap about an 1/2.5 cm from the top, stirring as you go.
8. Add the cream to the top by means of a squeeze bottle, or by pouring it over the back of a spoon so that it slowly pours into the top of the cocktail.
9. Serve and enjoy!
