CAKE:
3 c Cake flour
1 ts Baking soda
1/4 ts Salt
6 Eggs; separated
1 c Plain yogurt
2 c Sugar; divided
1 c Butter
2 ts Grated lemon peel
2 ts Lemon juice
GLAZE:
3 oz Cream cheese
2 c Confectioners sugar
1 Lemon; juice and peel of
Sift dry ingredients; set aside. Beat egg whites, gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, until stiff. Set aside. Beat butter, remaining 1-1/2 cup sugar, egg yolks, lemon peel and juice until fluffy--10 minutes. Add flour and alternate with yogurt; then fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into a greased and floured 10" tube pan (I used a non-stick pan and didn't have to grease or flour). Bake 50 - 60 minutes at 350~. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then turn out on rack. Glaze: Mix and pour over cooled cake. I did not make the glaze and the cake was wonderful - moist and delicious. Enjoy - we did! Carol in Scarsdale, NY MM Format Norma Wrenn npxr56b -----

Ingredients
The Dry Ingredients:
3 cups (400g) all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons (9g) baking powder
zest of 2 lemons
The Wet Ingredients:
8 ounces (226g) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 eggs, at room temperature
1 cup (250g) plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Garnishes:
fresh berries
confectioner's sugar
shredded sweetened coconut
whipped cream
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 °F, 170 °C.
Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan with butter.
Combine the dry ingredients ina. bowl and whisk them together.
In another bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until incorporated.
Add the eggs and beat together.
Add the yogurt and mix until incorporated.
Combine the baking soda with the lemon juice and add to the batter.
Add the flour mixture in 2-3 batches mixing until just incorporated.
Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan and bake on the center rack for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
The cake is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs attached.
Allow the cake to cool and then transfer it to a platter.
Dust the top with confectioner's sugar and serve with whipped cream and fresh berries.

Notes
If the cake browns too fast, loosely cover the pan with some foil.
To make a Lemon Glaze topping:
Combine 1 cup of confectioner's sugar with 3-4 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and whisk them all together until smooth. Drizzle the glaze on top of the cooled cake.

Greek Yoghurt Lemon Cake with Lemon Glaze ||Favorites
This Lemon yoghurt cake is very tasty and easy to make.
Ingredients:
All purpose flour- 1 1/2cup
Baking powder-2 tsp
Salt- 1/4 tsp
Egg - 2
Sugar- 3/4 cup
Oil- 1/2 cup
vanilla extract- 1/4 tsp
Lemon zest- 1lemon
Greek Yoghurt- 1cup
Lemon Glaze:
powdered sugar- 3/4 cup
Squeezed lemon juice- 5 -6 tbsp
Method:
Preheat the oven at 180°c for 10 minutes.
Sieve maida,baking powder &salt.
In a large bowl add egg,sugar, lemon zest,and whisk until it turns pale colour.
Add yoghurt, vanilla extract &oil. Mix well.
Add flour to this mixture and whisk together.
Pour this batter in an oil & flour greased pan.
Bake for 35- 40 minutes.Let it cool.
For Glaze:
Combine the lemon juice and powdered sugar in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and pour over the cake.

Hey guys, it’s Chloe here, and I’ve got a sheet cake recipe for ya’ll. I had a huge tub of leftover greek yogurt and so why not make a cake with it. Greek yogurt is super high in protein which keeps your cake moist and delicate.
Recipe:
Cake Batter:
* 300g unsalted butter softened
* 150g caster sugar
* 305g Greek Yogurt
* 240g all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 egg yolk
Meringue part
* 2 egg whites
* 150g caster sugar
Drizzel:
* half lemon ish worth of juice
* 120g powdered sugar
* 1 tablespoon Greek Yogurt
