How To make East Indian Chicken
1/2 c Chopped onion
1/2 c Chopped green pepper
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1 ts Vegetable oil
2 c Skin, cooked diced chicken
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1 1/2 ts Curry powder
28 oz Whole tomatoes, can
1 tb Worcestershire sauce
2 tb Chopped parsley
1/4 c Raisins
2 c Cooked rice
Cook onion, pepper, garlic powder in oil until onion tender, about 3 min. Add remaining ingredients, except rice, cook over low heat for 30 min. Serve over rice. Cal: 340 Fat: 1 2/5g.

Punjabi Chicken Gravy Recipe - Tari Wala Chicken - Punjabi Chicken Curry - Easy Chicken Curry Recipe

There are several ways you can make chicken curry with each region having its own special way of making it. Today I will show you how to make a Punjabi chicken curry. This chicken curry is extremely delicious as ghee is used but you can even use butter if you do not have ghee on hand.
Ingredients required for making Punjabi chicken recipe -
For marination
* 1.1kg/2.4 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs. You can even use chicken with bones.
* 1/4 th cup plain unflavored yogurt
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 1/4 th teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder. You can even use cayenne pepper or paprika
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon coarsely crushed black pepper.
For the gravy -
* 10 cloves / 35 gm/ 1.2 oz garlic
* 2 & 1/2 inch length/ 32 gm/ 1.1 oz ginger
* 1 very large onion or 4 medium onions
* 1 large tomato
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 2 heaped teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder. Please adjust proportion according to preference. You can even use paprika if you want to avoid the heat.
* 1 tablespoon heaped ground coriander (dhania powder)
* 1/2 teaspoon kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves). Adding a lot of fenugreek leaves may make your curry bitter.
* 1 heaped teaspoon garam masala powder.If you want to make your own garam masala powder then please follow this recipe -
* 2 tablespoons mustard oil or any oil of your preference. If using mustard oil please heat it up first on high heat till it starts smoking. Then lower the heat to low and bring down the temperature of the oil a little bit before adding your whole spices.
* 2 tablespoons ghee (Add 1 tablespoon with oil and another tablespoon along with ground coriander. If you want to make your own homemade ghee then please follow this recipe -
* 1 large dried bay leaf
* 7 green cardamoms (chat elaichii)
* 7 cloves (lavang)
* 2 inch length cinnamon stick (dalchini)
* 1/2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds (jeera)
* 2 whole green chillies (optional)
* coriander leaves a handful or leave it out if you do not like it.
* 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste
Serve this with rice/roti/paratha/naan.

Ingredients for Country Captain Chicken Curry:
(Tsp-Teaspoon; Tbsp-Tablespoon)
- Chicken - 500 gms. (Legs & Thighs)
Tempering:
- Cloves- 5
- Cinnamon- 3 small pieces
- Black Peppercorns- 6-8
- Dry Red Chillies cut into small pieces- 3 whole
- Red Onions, sliced- 2 large (100 gms x 2 = 200 gms)
Spice Powders:
- Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
- Later,
- Cumin Powder- 1/2 tsp
Other Ingredients:
- Oil- 3 tbsp
- Ghee (clarified butter)- 2 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic paste- 1.5 tsp
- Salt-1 tsp
Preparation:
- Slice the onions and set aside.
- Take 3 whole dried red chillies and cut them into pieces to be used for tempering.
Process:
- Heat oil and ghee in a frying pan and add all the whole spices and sliced red onions.
- Mix and fry on medium high heat for 8-10 mins till light brown in color. Take out half the fried onions onto another plate to be added at the end.
- Now add all the chicken pieces side by side and fry on high heat for 1 min. Flip and fry on high heat for 1 min on the other side too till the color changes to white.(Total 2 mins)
- Now add the ginger garlic paste, give a mix and continue to fry on high to medium high heat for a total of 5-6 mins on both sides till the chicken is roasted.
- Now add the turmeric, red chilli powders and salt, give a mix and fry on medium heat for 4-5 mins till the masala is cooked and chicken is browned.
- Add 200 ml water, give a mix and cover & cook on low heat for 10 mins. Remove lid, add the cumin powder and give a mix. Cover & cook for another 5 mins till the chicken is cooked and gravy starts to thicken.
- Now add back the fried onions set aside earlier, give a mix and cover & cook for another 5 mins. (Spoon the gravy over the chicken pieces to coat the pieces with the gravy and onions.)
- Remove lid, mix and simmer for 2-3 mins to get the desired consistency.
