How To make Scottish Oat Scones
2/3 c Butter, melted*
1/3 c Milk
1 ea Egg
1 1/2 c All-purpose flour*
1 1/4 c Quick Quaker Oats, uncooked
1/4 c Sugar
1 T Baking powder
1 t Cream of tartar
1/2 t Salt
1/2 c Raisins or currants*
(My comment: Preheat oven to 425 F. I suggest you plump the raisins.) (I vary the items marked *) Add butter, milk and egg to combined dry ingredients; mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in raisins. Shape dough to form ball*; pat out on lightly floured surace to form 8-inch circle*. Cut into 8 to 12* wedges; bake on greased cookie sheet in preheated hot oven (425 F.) 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Serve warm at breakfast or brunch with butter, preserves or honey, as desired. Made as above, with BUTTER, these are absolutely wonderful! The buttery aroma is to die for! However, I seldom make them that way because of the cholesterol and because my wife and I almost always use whole wheat flour.

Oat scones
Helen Martin-Hicks
I used 6oz oat flour
1 tsp baking powder maybe should have used a bit more ?
1/4 tsp salt
Mixed and added 5 Oz fat free yogurt
Baked 180 15 mins approx
They taste good but heavy - bound to be dense ! I could add some flour but then it would not be complete NC
Will experiment again! I did try lemonade a while back but didn't really work that well
Sweet and Salty Oat Scones
These little round scones are a softer and chewier adaptation of oatcakes, traditional Scottish hard crackers or biscuits that are served with jam, dip or on their own.
Ingredients:
¼ cup whole-wheat flour
1 cup unsalted, mixed nuts
1 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup agave nectar, warmed
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup dried cranberries (or raisins), chopped
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Place the flour and nuts into a food processor or blender and blend until it reaches a flour-like consistency. Be careful not to blend too much, otherwise it'll turn into nut butter. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
3. Add the remaining ingredients until the mixture sticks together (you may need to add a tablespoon or so of water).
4. Divide into 9 balls and place on an oiled baking sheet. Press down gently on each ball until they're about 2 inches wide.
5. Bake for 8 minutes, then flip the cakes using a spatula and bake for an additional 6 minutes
Ready in about 30 minutes
Makes 8-10

How To Make Scones | Jamie Oliver | AD
Crumbly, rustic, simple fruit scones served with a dollop of clotted cream and strawberry jam. So wonderfully British, so delicious, the taste of Summer! This is a paid ad.
NB. The edit gremlins are back and somewhere along the lines the 2 eggs that should have been added with the milk are missing!! Or you can add 150ml of milk if you don't want to add eggs. Check out full recipe here.
Top tip - make an extra big batch and freeze the cut out dough. Then whenever you’re feeling peckish pop in the oven and cook until golden and warm.
