George Washington’s Carrot Tea Cake
In honor of Presidents' Day week and George Washington's Birthday, I decided to make a very historical carrot tea cake that was eaten by the first President himself. This recipe is so easy to make and the cake tastes delicious! Plus, grating carrots is my new favorite hobby, not gonna lie. Today is the day that you can have your cake and eat it too :) Enjoy!
George Washington's Carrot Tea Cake Recipe from
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup canola oil 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 2 cups grated carrots
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cake pan with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
In a large bowl, combine the oil, sugar, eggs and carrots, and mix well. Add the flour mixture and stir until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until a tester comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool in the pan 2 minutes, then turn the cake out onto a rack to finish cooling.

The actual cooking begins at 1:37 :D
As for these Hoe Cakes, personally, they remind me of Colombian Arepas, but maybe that's why I find them absolutely delicious! haha.
