Garlic Hummus -Recipe- | Ep #69
1 19oz can of chick peas
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2-4 tbsps Olive oil & some for garnish
2-3 tbsps tahini sauce
2 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper & some for garnish

Roasted Garlic Hummus????
1 400 mL can of chickpeas
2 tbsp tahini paste
2 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp cumin
5-6 cloves roasted garlic
1 tsp salt
Discard half of the water from the can of chickpeas (just eyeball it) and add the chickpeas with the rest of the water to a blender
Add in tahini, lemon juice, cumin, and roasted garlic. Add salt to your own taste.
Blend in a high-powered blender, at least 2-3 cycles, for a smooth hummus
Plate, create a well in the middle to drizzle over extra virgin olive oil, roasted garlic, with a sprinkle of paprika or sumac
How to roast garlic:
Peel, and cut off the stems of garlic cloves, keeping them whole, add them in to an oven safe dish (make as much as you want)
Drizzle olive oil enough to cover the cloves of garlic more than half way
Season with salt, pepper, or any other flavourings (here I used a pinch of Italian seasonings), and mix it around to coat
Cover the dish with a lid, or with foil, and roast at 350 F for 30-40 mins, until golden brown. Mines took about 35 minutes but it depends on your oven

How To Make Roasted Garlic Hummus | Dips and Spreads
A simple homemade recipe.

RECIPE: (from
1 head (bulb) of garlic, roasted
2 cups chickpeas (canned or cooked)
2 tbsp tahini
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp sea salt
4 tbsp olive oil
To roast garlic head:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Cut one end of the garlic.
3. Place a sheet of foil underneath and drizzle olive oil and salt over the garlic.
4. Wrap foil over garlic and place in a baking tray.
5. Bake for 45 minutes.
6. Let cool.
Hummus:
In a food processor,
1. Squeeze garlic from each clove.
2. Add chickpeas, tahini, water, lemon juice and salt.
3. Blend for 5 minutes until smooth.
4. Add olive oil.
5. Blend again until creamy while stopping to scrape the sides of the food processor in between.
6. If you'd like, add some chickpeas, paprika and olive oil.
Makes about 2-3 cups.

ROASTED GARLIC HUMMUS
Ingredients
• 1 bulb of garlic
• 2 teaspoons olive oil
• 1 540 ml can of chickpeas drained and rinsed
• 2 teaspoons tahini
• juice of one large lemon
• sea salt to taste
• 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
• Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and slice the root end off the bulb of garlic.
• Place the garlic on a parchment lined baking sheet, cut end up, and drizzle with the olive oil.
• Roast the garlic for about 25-30 minutes or until it's soft and slightly browned.
• Remove the garlic from the oven and let it cool slightly before squeezing the roasted cloves out of their skins and into the bowl of your food processor.
• Add the chickpeas, the tahini, lemon juice and sea salt, and blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
• While the food processor is running, drizzle in the olive oil until the hummus becomes even more creamy and pale in colour.
• Serve immediately with your favourite veggies, pitas, crackers or chips!
