1 c Pineapple chunks; drained 1 c Maraschino cherries Undrained 1 c Peaches; sliced; undrained 3 c Sugar 6 tb Brandy Combine pineapple, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy in a glass gallon jar; let stand for 2 weeks. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and with a wooden spoon inserted through the foil stir daily. Do not remove foil or spoon. Be sure to stir daily. After 2 weeks add cherries, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy. Let stand 2 more weeks, stirring daily. Fourth week. Add peaches, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons brandy. Let stand 2 more weeks, stirring daily. Sixth week. Strain fruit from the juice using a plastic strainer. Do NOT use metal strainer. Use fruit for ice cream topping, etc. Juice is starter for Friendship Cake, 1 pint per batch. Note. Use fruit in juice NOT syrup. Never refrigerate the starter. Day one must start within 3 or 4 days after the fruit has been drained. -----

FridgeCam this week is all about sharing... Aaaw! Specifically we're sharing cake, which is always a good thing!
You might have heard of Herman before - he's a cake mix that you look after for 9 days before splitting into 4 pieces - you give a piece to 3 friends and then use the 4th piece to bake a cake!
Your friends then go through the same process and give 3 pieces away to their friends and so on and so on and so on... Until we take over the world with cake!!

Friendship Bread Starter 1 packet yeast 1/4 C warm water 1 C milk 1 C flour 1 C sugar Mix well with wooden spoon or spatula. Keep on counter in glass jar covered loosely or zip lock back. Stir daily and burp the ziplock bag. Day 1 - Make starter Days 2-5 stir Day 6 add 1 cup each of milk, flour, and sugar Days 7-9 stir Day 10 add 1 cup each of milk, flour and sugar
On Day 10 take up batter in 1 cup measurements into bags, gifting and keep one back for yourself for Bread.

friendshipbreadkitchen.com takes a while but it sure is good. starter = 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour (all purpose) 1 cup milk. stir every day with plastic or wooden spoon. cover and keep on the counter. on day on day 5 add 1 c. flour, 1 c. milk and 1 cup sugar. then stir every day till day 10. on day 10 add 3 cups veg. oil, 9 eggs 6 cups flour, 1 1/2 cups milk. 1 Tablespoon vanilla, 3 cups sugar, 4 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons cinnamon, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda, 2 cups walnuts or pecans.
