Make Tortillas Like a Mexican Grandma (The Easy Way)
Even a so-so corn tortilla made at home is better than the best one at your local grocery store (unless, of course, you live in Texas and have HEB!). But this video series is for the taco-eaters who won't settle for anything less than a world-class tortilla. Using hot water instead of lukewarm drastically changes the masa's texture. Finding clues for proper hydration separates the amateurs from the pros. An innate sense of how hard to press will bring everything together into a corn tortilla so perfectly pliable and resilient that you couldn't crumple it, even if you tried.

EASIEST EVER 3 INGREDIENT TORTILLAS: Surprisingly Simple to Make Using Flour, Heavy Cream & Salt
If you want to learn how to make the Easiest Ever 3 Ingredient Tortillas, then you've got to watch this video. These tortilla are made with flour, heavy cream and salt. That's it! And the end result is a batch of soft, pliable, delicious, perfect-looking tortillas! I found the recipe on Tik Tok and just had to give it a try because it's nothing like the way I was taught to make tortillas. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out. Read on for the recipe.
3 Ingredient Tortillas
4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
Combine flour and salt in large mixing bowl. Then add in heavy cream and mix with spatula. Lightly flour a flat surface. Place dough on floured surface and knead with hands for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut dough into smaller pieces and roll into balls that are about 3 inches in diameter. Place dough balls back in bowl, cover and let rest 20 minutes.
After dough has rested, heat large skillet or comal on stovetop over medium high heat. Roll each ball of dough out with a rolling pin to form a tortilla. Place tortilla on heated skillet and let cook on first side until bubbles form. Flip it over and cook other side. Remove from skillet and immediately cover with kitchen towel and continue rolling out and cooking the rest of the tortillas.
This recipe should make about 15 tortillas.
