Easy Vegan Yogurt
In Madeleine's Intuitive Kitchen today we learn how to make vegan yogurt that is healthy, organic, unprocessed, inexpensive, and delicious! We use one of the 2 easily-available brands of organic, certified GMO-free unsweetened soy milk that are available in the U.S., Westsoy and Edensoy. We just add the yogurt starter (originally a one-time online purchase of Belle-Bella vegan starter) that we save (2 TBSP) and freeze with each batch. A whole quart of organic, top-quality yogurt for only $3.00. Great for adding to Swiss Muesli, or using as a base for desserts and dressings, or in making raita, or just by itself.
Best to have the soy milk at room temperature to start. Most stoves seem to use the same size interior light bulb that makes a nice warm (not too hot) place for the yogurt bacteria to grow nicely - around 110-115 degrees F or so if placed near the bulb at the back of the stove.
We haven't tried this method with other vegan milks, such as coconut, hazelnut,, almond, hemp, oat, rice, etc., so if you do try it with a non-soy vegan milk, please let us know here in the comments below how it turns out. Thanks!

Cinnamon, Oats and Banana Smoothie (Vegan)
This is my go-to smoothie when I don't feel like getting too fancy.....Feel free to add some cocoa powder or some strawberries for a little extra flavor. Enjoy!
1 1/2 c. non-dairy milk of choice (sweetened or unsweetened)
1 Tb. rolled oats (whole or ground up in a coffee grinder)
1 banana (cold or frozen would be best however you can always add some ice to the smoothie instead)
1 date or date paste (it's best if the date has been soaked so it becomes soft and it's easier to blend)
a dash of ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)

Homemade Soy Yogurt ???? Make Your Second Batch from the First
Make your own homemade soy yogurt and use each batch as the starter for the next! It's one of the easiest things you can make, needs two ingredients to start and then only unsweetened soy milk for each batch thereafter. Oh...and you'll need a jar and an Instant Pot.
Join me and watch how I make my second batch of homemade soy yogurt and see for yourself just how delicious and simple it actually is.
???? ???? IMPORTANT NOTE ???? ????
You only need to use the Vegan Starter or Acidophilus Capsules for your first batch. You should use a 1/4 to 1/2 cup from your first batch as the starter for your second. Then, you'll use 1/4 to 1/2 cup from your second batch as the starter for your third, and so on. So, don't eat the whole batch. If you did, that's okay. Just use another Vegan Starter packet to create a fresh batch.
