How To make Chunky Marinara Sauce
1 c Diced red onion
1 c Diced celery
1 c Diced zucchini
1 c Diced mushrooms
4 c Peeled, diced tomatos (about
8 Medium)
1 c Tomato juice
2 T Tomato paste
2 T Chopped fresh basil
1 T Chopped fresh oregano
1 t Minced garlic
Dice onion, celery, zucchini, and mushrooms into 1/2" chunks. Saute in basalmic vinegar, about 5 minutes. Add tomatos; blend in tomato juice, tomato paste, herbs, and garlic. Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
¼ tsp salt
¼ c onions, finely diced
¼ c carrot, cubed
¼ c celery, cubed
3 c tomato puree (I have used can)
2 c diced tomatoes, (I have used can tomatoes)
¼ tsp Italian seasoning
a pinch of basil and oregano

I made this Homemade Marinara Sauce for your consideration, i't really good and takes about 15 minutes.
I do make this from time to time, but find that the jarred sauces are actually quite good.
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped shallot
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
28 ounce crushed tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon olive oil

Ingredients you'll need:
First Variation:
4.5 pounds (1.8kilo) fresh roma tomatoes
1/2 cup (125ml) good extra virgin olive oil
sea salt to taste
Second Variation (Amatriciana-esque style) *this gets added to the simmering tomatoes instead of that 1/2 cup (125ml) of olive oil:
1/4 cup diced guanciale (75g)
2 sprigs rosemary
1 clove garlic lightly crushed left whole *see notes*
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
*notes on garlic*: I use only one clove because it's flavor needs to be very subtle for this tomato sauce. You really want the flavor of the tomato to shine through for the majority of the flavor. Authentic Italian flavor uses garlic in moderation and in subtlety.
