Say goodbye to expensive store bought peanut butter!
Make your own Yummy, Healthy, Protein rich Chocolate Peanut Butter at home!
Not only the kids but you will love it too!
Try it out!
Recipe :
Chocolate Peanut Butter
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 1 Cup/ approx. 250g
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups Peanuts
1 tbsp Peanut Oil
2 tbsp Honey
1/8 tsp Salt
½ cup chopped Chocolate
Method:
Dry roast the raw peanuts on low heat to remove the skin.
Cool the peanuts and rub between hands to remove the skin and discard the skin.
You could also use skinned raw peanuts and toast them lightly.
Place the peanuts in a grinder jar and grind.
Once you have a coarse meal, keep grinding till it starts coming to a paste like structure.
Add the Peanut Oil and Salt till the mixture forms a smooth paste.
Add in the honey and blitz to mix in the honey.
Melt the chopped chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler.
Microwave in bursts of 30 seconds, mixing between bursts till the chocolate is melted (no more than 1 ½ minutes).
Gently fold in the chocolate into the prepared peanut butter, taking care not to overmix or the chocolate will seize.
Fill in clean glass bottles and store at room temperature.
